Updated the thread with the video Volition showed earlier and added a few 4k screenshots to the images in the first post.

Only thing I'm not so keen on is the VFX of the Decker specialist in their most recent clip. Everything else they changed makes the game look more realistic but that effect looks way too cartoony.

Wow, Shaundi looks amazing in the new clip, a total badass! I hope the female boss is able to look as good as her!
How did you manage to get a video clip Singa? All I can see is a GIF on the social media. Admixon also cropped a high res GIF too, what program are you guys using?

It's a bit of a shame that such a good design is being used for the game with probably the most underwhelming/unfinished story. Especially since the game has a bizarre trend of continuously damseling Shaundi and having her get illogically kidnapped or held hostage offscreen. She didn't really get much interesting writing or moments to shine as a character.

If the new Saints Row has Shaundi, I hope she has a similar badass design and gets more character development/agency/time to stand out on her own as a character.
I totally agree with this. That's why I'm not a fan of the deliberately cartoonish Agents of Mayhem. I've always liked Saints Row games because of their attempts at visual realism. I remember being very impressed with the visual realism in Saints Row 3 when it first came out. This remake looks better, but I never really felt SR3 needed a remake. I've always been hoping they could do something like this for SR1 or SR2, which really look dated.

I never felt Saints Row looked realistic, there is a very light cartoon style to it, and a lot of interesting vibrant colours and contrast. I do think Agents of Mayhem had an absolutely gorgeous artstyle with beautiful animation, which is why I'm sad the civilians were so underwhelming. I am definitely an advocate for games to go for the form of stylized realism present in this remaster, rather than uncanny hyper realism, and I hope the next Saints Row doesn't push that boundary.

I do wish they could've tweaked the difficulty or added some improvements to the AI to make it more intelligent and fun to fight like in Red Faction Guerilla. The complete lack of new content is a let down, I feel they could've made some quality of life improvements and adjustments to make the game more replayable and age better.

I hope that the new models for the player character customization and clothing options look better, especially for the female boss, since she often looked strangely animated during cutscenes. It would've been nice if they split up the one piece outfits into multiple categories to allow more freedom of customization without much extra development time. The one piece outfit dlcs were definitely one of the worst parts of Saints Row 3 and 4.

Odd, but, it is just me or all non-boss character that are important they've better textures? Because it kind look the same boss as the original, all blurry.

It's likely that for the player only stuff like skin-, hair-, eye textures and features such a scars will receive upgrades. They can't really change the model of the player since that would mess with customization and prevent us from transferring our character formulas and apply them in the remaster.

So they still haven't upgrade? Because that is what I'm saying: it looks the same texture as the original.

We need some higher res footage that doesn't move so fast to really be able to tell.

Don't forget the overly-thick eyelashes and silly-putty hair. I think the default effeminate-looking white male Boss is such an odd thing for them to promote in a game about gangsters. Unfortunately, this isn't a proper remaster, it's more like a half-master. A real remaster would rework the sounds and fix the lack of detail in the environments and also rework the MC model to be more in line with the newer NPC models.

Speaking of NPCs - Shaundi, Pierce and the gang, that is. Regarding their changes, the only things that have changed about Shaundi's look is that she's wearing a dark purple top like in her concept art. She still has the same exact hair, it's not like 2's hair where the hair was layered, it's just the weird playdough mushy hair that vaguely resembles a styled ponytail. Her face is definitely improved, but I think that's honestly down to a paint job regarding her makeup more than anything else, she still has the same lip shape, nose and facial structure. Her heels still look weird, and don't look like actual heels or the ones in her concept art.

Oleg looks more human compared to the Boss. He's got hair follicles on his head now, instead of just being completely bald and he's got a more rounded muscular body that isn't so misshapen now. And the bar code too, that seems to be a new addition.

Pierce's skin tone is a lot darker now, he looks like his Saints Row 3 cinematic trailer appearance. His face has changed like Shaundi's, he doesn't have those weird bushy eyebrows anymore and his white suit has patterns on it instead of just being a plain white texture.

There was footage of Gat in a video a couple of weeks ago, but you can't see his face. From the look of it, his clothes didn't seem any different. He probably won't get a big change given how the Gat costumes in the bank heist still look the same and they resemble his face basically.

It might be wishful thinking, but I hope they give Cyrus, Philippe, Viola and Kiki and Kinzie better faces.

Reading this thread has been amazing. Half the people are saying to wait until the game has come out to judge it while the other half have been bitching and moaning about the game after they saw 2 trailers of the game.
