Cutscene Patch operates from a GotR-like Batch file menu which allows you to customise your very own Cutscene Patch with a wide selection of optional Extras!

It will even install files directly into your "mods" folder, for modding with minimal effort! (Juiced only.)​

- Many NPCs now have a greater degree of variation in the randomisation of their appearance.
- Conversely Some NPCs now have specific appearances, for consistency with gameplay and other cutscenes (such as the Doctor in the first mission).

🎞 Character Swapping made easier: (for Modders)
Cutscene files tend to specify specific Variants and Morphs for a Character. Cutscene Patch v1.4 removes many of those specifications, meaning all of that information is controlled by a given SNPC's files.

Eg: To replace Pierce in all cutscenes, all you now have to do is change the <Character> in "snpc_Pierce_pre.xtbl", instead of modifying each cutscene he appears in individually.

Here, I have changed the <Character> in "CS_DoorJail_pre.xtbl" to "snpc_Carlos_Jail":

In the Changelog.txt, if you see "[Character] Variants and Morphs have been randomised.", it means their Variants and Morphs are no longer specified by the cutscene file, which results in randomisation based on data in the NPC's files. It also means they can be model-swapped via this method.

Other NPCs have at least one Variant from their .cvtf specified for a cutscene (eg: snpc_shaundi.cvtf: "workout" for SS10-01), which means any replacement model would need a Variant with that name applied to it's .cvtf in order to appear in those cutscenes.

If you wish to make your own NPC mods compatible with Cutscene Patch, you can find the modified Cutscene Patch XML Variant Tables (.xtbl) in "mod_file_libraries\cutscene_patch\Variant Tables for Modders".


📽 EXTRAS:
Extras are entirely optional, but allow you to customise your Cutscene Patch to your own specifications!
Collections:
These Extras affect multiple Cutscenes in a similar way.

Aisha's Front Door:
The front door of Aisha's house in cutscenes will now match the design seen in open world gameplay.​

Better Expressions:
Improves facial expressions in various cutscenes throughout the game. See Changelog for specific details.​

Bumaga Defeated:
Restores the cut boss "Bumaga" as a corpse in Prologue cutscenes.​

Custom Height Fixes:
Contains various positioning fixes for those using mods which change the height of your Character (such as "CHeight" by @Clippy95).​

Custom Height Fixes: Kinda Fixed
As above, but these fixes may or may not be desirable, due to looking incorrect in other ways.​

Custom Height Fixes: Props Hidden
An alternate solution to "Kinda Fixed", which removes the Props completely.​

Custom Height Fixes: Replace Beer Bottles with Beer Cans
Beer Bottles are a prominent example of a cutscene prop which doesen't play well with a character with custom height values. This replaces those Beer Bottles with Beer Cans.​

Custom Height Fixes: Replace Beer Bottles with alt. Beer Bottles
As above, but this replaces the Beer Bottles with an alternate Beer Bottle model. Beer Cans are recommended over this option, as they look more natural.​

F'n Lightweight
Whenever Playa is around drugs in a cutscene, they get progressively high towards the end of the cutscene.​

Jessica's Long Hair
Replaces Jessica's Ponytail hairstyle with an unused leftover "Long and Straight" hairstyle. This will also apply to Jessica's gameplay model for consistency between gameplay and cutscenes.​

Jyunichi's Sunglasses
Jyunichi will wear Sunglasses in cutscenes when appropriate.​

No Forced Prison Outfit
Playa will no longer be forced to wear the Prison Outfit for cutscenes which take place during the first mission. This is useful for those starting a new game with the "Start Without Clothing" option in SuperUI by nclok1405.​

No Samedi Corpses
Cutscene Patch adds Samedi corpses in Prologue cutscenes for consistency with gameplay. This Extra removes them, as in Vanilla.​

Pierce's Desert Eagle
Whenever Pierce appears holding a gun in a cutscene, it will be replaced with a GDHC.50 (Desert Eagle).​

Restored Subtitles
Restores leftover subtitles for cutscenes throughout the game. (Disables end-game credits.)​

Saints HQ Stage Forced:
Force a renovation stage of the Saints HQ for all cutscenes which take place there. (Only affects cutscenes)​

Saints HQ Stage Forced: Pole Dancer
Force renovation stage 3 of the Saints HQ for all cutscenes which take place there, and add a Pole Dancer who will dance to the crib radio.​

Swap Barney and Fred:
Swap the two Prison Guards in the opening cutscenes.​


Individual:
These Extras affect individual Cutscenes only.

This mod aims to fix (as much as possible) all cutscene issues in Saint's Row 2.
This includes Story cutscenes and Activity cutscenes.
Some issues are exclusive to the PC port, while some others were shipped with the game on all platforms.

The Changelog shown below is also included in the download as a .txt file.

Yeah, it annoys me too. I looked into this while I was building the Viva Volition! Texture Pack, but there's no transparency in the textures so I don't think it's because of that.
I took a closer look in-game; The only parts which are not transparent (as it appears to me) are the tail, the halo, and the Vice-9s.

I think the issues also the patch they promised could fix some bugs,etc.. since their port pc its not good as console ones but we might see if someone can fix it.

Yeah i really like you can fix shaundi with that repair outfit.. i dont remember she doesnt wear it later after we landed in HQ lol.

She doesnt wear it in the cutscenes.. not sure if in console also happens.

awesome work! any chance that the Assault on Precinct 31 cutscene could have an alt version where both Shaundi and Boss are wearing their regular outfits instead though? i have the opposite problem with it than what this changes, Boss made it sound like they wouldn't be caught dead wearing the jumpsuit when Shaundi teases them about it. always thought it was weird they'd then go in front of their crew while still sporting it lol

So, in SR2, the player is never forced to wear an outfit for a cutscene. The player wears whatever they were wearing when the cutscene started.

For example:
-When the "Silver" cutscene starts after completing "Assault on Precinct 31", the player was last wearing the Repair outfit, so continues to wear it for the cutscene.​
-When you replay the "Silver" cutscene from the TV in your Crib, the player will continue wearing whatever they were wearing when the cutscene was selected to be replayed.​

The Prison outfit in the opening mission is no exception to this. It is not actually an "Outfit" (like how the outfits in the Wardrobe are "Outfits"), they are the player's default clothes, controlled by a dedicated file, to be worn at the start of a new game.
The player is already wearing the Prison clothes when the Intro cutscene (with Barney and Fred [the guards]) starts, and so the player continues to wear them in cutscenes until you are told to change them at Sloppy Seconds in the second mission.

Since there's no Table Description at the bottom of Cutscene files, it's hard to know if there's a function to force the player to wear (or not wear) a specific outfit.


TLDR; Sadly, I'm not sure this is possible. Good idea though, I hadn't thought of that!

UPDATE:
Ignore most of the above! It turns out there IS a command to force an outfit (it is used in the first three cutscenes of the game), but it doesn't seem there is an option to force no outfit. Unfortunately, what you're asking still doesn't seem possible.​
The file I've attached forces the player to wear the Repair outfit in the "Silver" cutscene (Cutscene Patch version), so it will even be worn in replays!:​

File no longer attached to this post, but it is included in Version1.1.

thanks for the explanation, appreciate it. i didn't even consider there's no example of what i was requesting in the game at all, just kinda assumed it probably wouldn't be that easy since Boss doesn't exactly just switch models like the npcs do

Yeah i check out the cutscene again she doesnt wear it that makes it weird the boss doesnt want stay too long in that outfit.. threatening shaundi to kill her if she post it on her blog... but shaundi unwear that cloth after we landed weird...

Anyway awesome mods looking forward what next mod you will made!
