Custom Radio Stations Guide

When I follow the guide now, everything SEEMS to be fine until I launch the game. Then I get a slightly longer than usual loading screen before the main menu, followed by total silence. All sound obliterated.

Not sure exactly where I've gone wrong :/ I'm a bit unclear as to what to do around step 19 as well. Any tips?

Ok, I followed the instructions again from scratch and it worked this time! Huzzah!

But I'm having problems. I have been able to follow everything up to the bnk packer. When I follow the command prompt for the bnk packer, it doesn't generate the two new bnk_pc files. It doesnt do anything but tell me that the files will be compiled under new file extensions/formats. What is going on? I'm using 1.3 version. Thanks. Also, when I play my converted files, they all sound like static.

WWIII and Apocalyptic Chaos are both stored in radio_misc, with WWIII being radio_misc_media_00496 and Apocalyptic Chaos being radio_misc_media_00030.

Also fun to note is radio_misc_media_00461 is a copy of Holding Out for a Hero, and radio_misc_media_00754 is Power (yes copies thereof). Your character and Pierce singing along to What I Got are also included in misc, under radio_misc_media_00285, 00502, 00108, 00186, 00012, 00703, and 00466 for the three males, three females, and zombie voice respectively. It's just the singing but is both parts together as a 'music' played along with the song itself.
 
That's really interesting that a radio station can pull from multiple banks. I wonder if the Mixtape feature of the cellphone actually populates all song entries based on if they are listed within the Song_List section in each radio station's xtbl; in this case, krunch_radio.xtbl. I also wonder if you could move the intros and outros that are defined for each song to the Song_List section and have them show up correctly. This could give you many more tracks to play with for custom music if it worked.
 
I started a Google doc spreadsheet to keep track of what files are what in case it helps anyone. I have added the little bit of information I have from digging around in interface_music plus merging in IdolNinja's track listing above and Gondar's additional info. I tried to preserve the hyperlinks to the Youtube video but the way I imported it, it put the links on the filename and not the name of the song. I'm a little too lazy to change it now but the information is at least there. Hope it helps.
 
Also I didn't look at the radio_misc files but one thing that "Holding Out for a Hero" and "Power" have in common is that they are both tracks that get played in the background during certain missions ("Hero" at the end if you choose to rescue Shaundi, "Power" is near the beginning of the game). Are they exactly the same as the radio versions? My guess is that they might be versions that get looped.

The version of "Holding Out for a Hero" seems to be a different version made to loop, probably with extra parts of it somewhere. The copy of "Power" is basically identical, but so was the version in the penthouse mission.
 
I assumed it was the penthouse version, or possibly the credits version. I however didn't notice HOfaH was looped, maybe I should have spent more time waiting to make a choice :p

Anyways, can anyone recall if the WWIII and Apocalyptic Chaos are used in missions that I missed? It's odd they're not stored in the same place as the others then...

Maybe I'm expecting too much. Maybe they were unsure about the rights to those two songs, and then they got the go-ahead after the main station set was packed, so they just threw them into misc with the other random stuff (which also includes commericals and random announcement bits that aren't mission specific, including some commerical dj spots).
