Saints Row 4 PAX Demo!

Game looks very enjoyable for me. I'm certainly a big fan of weapon skins - that's probably yet another feature that I'm going to miss in any other sandbox. Can't wait to grab that super soaker! Only thing I keep my fingers crossed in weapon department are dub step gun upgrades where every upgrade would change the featured music. Dub step looks hilarious but I would love to have the ability to make NPCs moonwalk, walk like Genesis did in "I can't dance" clip and so on.

Super powers look great too, especially TK. We're able to us use them in mid-air so that's another winning feature.

Last thing, I'm more than happy that SR4 seems to have same crisp, spot-on controls as SRTT had. Those were simply fantastic.

it looks alot better than sr3 already but it looks alot like prototype i love that game and this is just like it which is a good thing johnny gat is coming back yay!

I'm relieved to see a fan call SR4 a 'love letter to SR1 and SR2 fans', I was superhype for SR3 before release but after...it just didn't stack up in terms of story or overall gameplay IMO. Technically it was a beautiful game though. Just didn't quite have the magic that SR2 did for me and my buddies.

I realize with the super speed I might not be driving as much as usual, but please tell me they tightened up the vehicle physics? I thought the driving in SR3 felt very light, yet too heavy. Like you could be driving a car and it'd be a normal car, it'd feel fast and light, but the engine sounds were too tame and if you hit another car even if your car was like...a sports car hitting a van you'd almost always end up demolishing the other car. I think that was one of my main gripes with SR3 was that the driving just feels so off, it's some sort of weird mix of arcadey old style GTA physics and kinda-realistic GTAIV physics. I don't know if anyone else feels the same, I hear from a lot of people that the driving was actually good in SR3 so maybe it's just me

Other than that I'm just waiting to put my preorder in on Steam and I'm glad that SR4 is not only gonna have guidance from a fan who knows what the fans want, but another Gentleman-like mod to correct whatever flaws it might have

From what I could tell, vehicle control didn't feel any different in 4. I personally really loved the driving in SRTT. It was a huge improvement over SR2 imo.

Actually, not to step on anyone's toes, but I thought SR2 cars were much better! Much better looking, at least. :p The SR3 cars had these fugly black lines on them (between 'body' parts) that you couldn't remove, either. I *loved* 'borrowing' fancy cars in SR2 and making them all shiny and color-coordinated to match my outfits. :) Anyway, like the loss of layered clothing, in many ways I feel SR3 was a bit of a downgrade from SR2 even. But maybe that's just me, too.

IdolNinja: I just didn't much care for the driving physics at all, it's just IMO...but since we can run around with superspeed and jump I might not miss it much :p I think mainly it's the weighting of the cars and lack of oomph when driving them that bugs me. It is nice that they finally put acceleration/brakes on the triggers though, and boats/aerial vehicles still handle just fine, it's the cars that get me though

Alyxia: I like the aesthetic of the SR2 cars as well, but I think that I can blame that one on the bad day/night cycle in SR3, my Steelport was almost always dark (I played the 360 version too BTW, only recently got a gaming rig) because it was always nighttime and I can't see so well, so maybe it was just me. Definitely agree on the loss of layered clothes too, but to a lesser extent. I'm more concerned about the driving but I did miss the variety of outfits in 2. In 2 I had like ten different outfits my guy would wear and in 3 I think I really only had like...two that I liked.

Still, I'll forgive it all if the game is fun and provides me with the same amount of hilarious co-op moments that 2 did while providing a good single-player experience. And with the superpowers I'm already breaking my promise to myself that I wouldn't get caught in the SR4 hype train =P

EDIT: Oh and we totally need the pimp cane shotgun back, I loved that thing in the first two

Glad to hear the driving physics are the same as in SR:TT. It was barely possible to drift in SR2 and most exotic cars and even sports bikes went terribly slow, in my opinion, at least.

so i know this is about sr4 and it does look good but i wouldn't hold anything too it since sr3's cg trailer was so fucking amazing and did actually imply that johnny was alive and orignally planned to have him alive and by the end it looks like they team up with the morning star but if this game has johnny it will already be better which lots could improve over that game better missions which it felt like only the first 3-4 missions were really worked on in sr3 but then they just gave up think about when you shoot the windows out on the plane that scene was amazing so was the skydiving but it was still a disaapointment to see so much effort wasted.

[OFFTOPIC] The thing that bothered me the most of SR 3, was the thing that you couldn't enter buildings that you actualy where able to enter in missions. Like: Three Count Casino, Burns Hill Reactor, STAG Building, the mid level of the Saints HQ, and the Morningstar building (forgot the name). I bet there's a more, but I just forgot about them. SR 3 could actualy be 20x times better if: 1. It had Stillwater from SR 2 or 2. If Steelport would have much more accesable buildings.

Anyways, *fingers crossed* for SR 4.
