SR4 Rebooting PC (Shouldn't be a heat issue)

Are you and your friend both running the Steam version of the game?

Where is the saved game location for SR4, by the way? I might at least try this out and make try jacking my settings down way lower to see if I can avoid the reboot as suggested, as I would like to get back to playing this game.

Saved games are stored at:
<Steam Installation Folder>\userdata\<YourUniqueSteamID\206420\remote
The settings file you'd want to edit is located at:
<Steam Installation Folder>\steamapps\common\Saints Row IV\display.ini

Thank you both. I will try jacking settings down to Medium or something and see if it still restarts, while seeing if I can't recover my save. If I can, I'll be a much happier camper!

Yes both are Steam Versions of the Game.
We tried now redownloading on his Computer and verify integrety of game cache.
Still reboot...

Mine works only sometime CTD, but now not soo important, his makes his Computer restart like i wrote.

Yes, I have tried verifying the game cache a few times myself, to no avail.. so I don't think it is a corruption issue.

I see you and my Friend have the same issues.
Your event log says the same like his?

The description for Event ID 1 from source NvStreamSvc cannot be found. Either the component that

raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
NvStreamSvc
Unregistering VAD endpoint [0]

Edit:
  • Event log report - many thanks to zefie for this tutorial
    • right click on "Computer" in start Menu, choose "Manage"
    • look for the crash in the event viewer for SR4 and post the contents of the dialog box
