Saints Row 4 refused classification in Australia

Can anyone tell me if this will affect the New Zealand release at all?

lol well then no anal probe no buy... i hate australia sooo much.

All seriousness il just end up getting it overseas thank you internet.

it's just complete nonsense. all these censorships on games. they're games. GAMES. it's not real. it's fictional. if there was an anal probe gun in real life there was no way to censor it. if you were reading a book and there was some violence in it. would you tape over the words that were violent? australia just get over it. it's complete nonsense. i am glad there's one thing good about living in the netherlands and that is: no censorship on games and no localised versions. i love it ;)

i would actually like to hear what devs think about having their game censored to me it would be like having something iv worked hard on torn apart, they would probably see it as not a big deal but the pixelation bars are already in place so who cares? I hate laws in Australia an i would just open up a online purchase direct from the developer as we can actually ship the games in from overseas customs doesnt actually block them, some sites stop shipping that game here but most dont, i just remember mortal combat play Asia banned it for a short period shipping to Australia but i know alot of people who got it customs doesn't actually check an say oh yeah banned game better stop it.

Nothing ever changes does it? The human desire for control shows yet again.

Anyway, the anal probe isn't too much of a big deal since we could just probably mod that in. But what really puzzles me is the whole alien narcotics stuff. In SR2, there was the "Bad Trip" mission and blunts you could smoke. SR3 had a stronghold mission where you were all drugged up. If those two got by uncut, makes me both confused and worried on why SR4 is being banned with one of the reasons being the usage of drugs.
'Cause the loonier part of me is thinking that they are using that as a excuse to cut even more.

Bit of an overreaction in my opinion, were talking about alien probes. In 90% of alien lore there has always been anal probings lol. The game revolves around an alien invasion, what better way to get to know someone then surprise butt probes? :p ITS FOR SCIENCE

Really, for me it's completely stupid to censor or ban games. I think the game creators should have freedom to put in their games anything they want (of course if it doesn't disrespect anyone). It's dump to blame games for real crimes. They're just for having some fun. ;)

Australia seems to like censoring or outright refusing pieces of media for the most awkward of reasons. Not like the US of A's censorship policies are any better, but at least the gov't tries to explain their way out of their bullshit...

Well the US can't ban games (or any other form of media) solely based on its content. The First Amendment doesn't allow that. The only exception is child porn.
