Uhm I followed the process successfully, but the issue remains I can't find my uploaded characters? What might be the issue? Please help...Thanks.
Can anyone please help me? I followed the instructions step by step but when I launch the game and get to the main menu screen, the "Connected to My Steelport emulator!" text never appears no matter how much I wait on the main menu screen. This is for Saints Row IV, I haven't tested it for 3.
Is it possible you need sr4.hydra.agoragames.com as well? It seemed to work for me after following PCGamingWiki's steps.
Go back to step 2 - 5, opening hosts with admin Notepad, but make sure both these lines are there:
Code:
127.0.0.1 sr3.hydra.agoragames.com
127.0.0.1 sr4.hydra.agoragames.com

And it should look like this:

Or maybe it just doesn't work on Re-Elected version. If you are on Steam you can roll back the version by right click game > properties > beta > choose "stable_legacy"

Before and after posting my comment, I went to try and find an answer from AI and it told me to put the 127.0.0.1 sr4.hydra.agoragames.com line as well. It finally worked. What's interesting is that the first couple of times I asked it, it didn't include that part, but the iterations of the same question made it include that part. Thanks for the help regardless.

Hey guys, I've got a little problem. I followed the instructions, but I didn't close the program because the game doesn't allow me to enter the "Character Gallery", and everything worked, but the game is asking me to log in to the Community Site. It's asking for my username and password. What should I do?

If you've already ran MySteelportEmulator.exe, just type anything in the boxes like asdf asdf for user name and password. It will then ask you to accept EULA (not that you can read it anyway), just say yes. It should work from there

Аaaa... Thanks, man. And I'm racking my brains, hahaha

But I have a second and final question. I can't upload my own character. I can download someone else's, but I can't upload.

That's strange. I have to go in a bit, so I can only summarize steps you can try again in order:
0) close the game & MySteelportEmulator
1) open game to main menu
2) open MySteelportEmulator
3) check "Connected to My Steelport" message at bottom of main menu (may be different)
4) try going to plastic surgeon > character gallery again
5) try upload

6) maybe??? make sure you extract the whole archive not just run .exe directly. the folder needs to be real location you can write to, not from inside zip

Ive had problems with it before but usually solved by retrying it enough times and making sure hosts file modified as per my post above (need launch notepad as admin)

The funny thing is, I did it. I launched the game, started the program, and it told me I was able to connect to it. Then I went to the community site, and it told me I could now use the "Character Gallery." I went there and saw that I could download a character, but I couldn't download it. It said that the connection to the community site timed out. That's it. I've tried three or four times now, and it still doesn't work, even though I'm following the instructions exactly.

That's why I can't upload my character, but I can download another one...

I have the same problem. I can't figure out what's wrong with the program. It seems to work, but at the same time it doesn't... I'm also waiting for an answer.
I'm back, what I know is that the program needs permission to write the character file inside characters folder.

Possibly, an antivirus is blocking it, try whitelisting MySteelportEmulator.exe (in my case I use Windows Defender, and didn't need to do it). Restarting Windows (not Shut Down, since that's Hibernate*) may also help
