Billboard Texture Toolkit for SRIV

Here is the Billboard Texture Toolkit for SRIV. I have taken IdolNinja's toolkit for SRTT, and with his permission, updated it so that it does work for SRIV.

Have fun porting your billboards from SRTT, or creating new ones!

I will post, in Mod Releases, a mod that does restore all the SRTT billboards and looks, and that does try to attenuate the Zinyak propaganda as much as possible. It is basically the same as using this tool with all the textures from the modified_textures_SRTT_dds folder. I did also provide the SRIV textures, for those that prefer to work with them.

billboard_al - this is the collection of all standard horizontal billboards, in low resolution. It is these versions of the billboards that are used when the game determines that the billboards are too distant to show the normal resolution versions.
Furthermore, there is additionnal work to do to produce a perfect billboard_al.tga.DDS file. In SRIV, there are 5 billboards that show a different picture than in SRTT. But those 5 billboards still use their original low resolution pictures from SRTT. The culprits are:
billboard_aerialeros_d which now shows the picture of Billboard_CemShoes_D
billboard_mbrawl_b_d which now shows the picture of billboard_psshaundi_a_d
billboard_nb_1_d which now shows the picture of billboard_pspierce_a_d
billboard_ps_a_d which now shows the picture of billboard_steelport_a_d
billboard_psgat_a_d which now shows the picture of billboard_steelport_b_d

For example, in billboard_al.tga.DDS, the low res picture of the Billboard_CemShoes_D will be located at two places: the section for Billboard_CemShoes_D itself, and the section for billboard_aerialeros_d
Both sections must be updated with the same picture if you want to have a perfect billboard_al.tga.DDS file.



512x256 BRICK BILLBOARDS - each are used in just a few places on buildings brick walls, they are not easy to spot. The images are semi tranparent.

NOTE: Each 512x512 LCD dds is actually a tilesheet comprised of 4 billboards that are individually 128x512. The LCD display cycles through each one and then repeats.

reserved to post some problems I encountered and list what I feel I am still missing, especially on the standpoint of removing Zinyak propaganda. To be done later on.

It's really nice that you included the bench, female lamp statue, the brick wall billboards and more .

It would really be nice to be able to modify these 63 textures for SRTT and hopefully there may be a chance that there may be a version for SRTT that has all the textures listed above.:D

lol, thanks for the benediction! I will probably get around to do it in the next week or so. At least, it should be much less work than in SRIV, not having to get rid of Zinyak propaganda.

I am currently having fun creating 'saucy' billboards, that I will eventually post in the adult corner ;)

The billboards a static images - even the animated ones (which are a tilesheet of images with a HARDCODED afaik delay and # of frames) - so that would be a no, unless you have an animation with only 4 frames that you could use as a replacement for the "Huge LCD vertical billboards".
Even the OP tells you this - proving that you didn't read it.
