MOD REQUEST: Remove censor

I don't know what Volition was thinking when they added the mosaic, but putting in a censor is probably one of the most annoying things. Why allow the option of going nude and then blocking it? Ive noticed no one has mentioned doing this so I decided to ask. I also have found out unlike SR2 its not just a mosaic that you can remove in an ini file its actually part of the texture.
I would do it myself, but i lack the tools.

And to my knowledge, there are two ways of doing what you want.

You can remove the privacy bar from the customizing items or replacing the shader creating this effect.

You would obtain a Barbie Doll effect though, the texture is "naughty parts-free".

this is a female nude mod that i found linked on game vixen zone

while i dont reccomend useing everything in it because i think its missing a file, and it does something weird to the textures

if you take just the shaders.vpp_pc
and replace(make a backup) the one in your *game dir*\packfiles\pc\cache (should be something akin to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\saints row the third)
it should remove the mosaic blur, atleast, it did for me

keep in mind, i didnt make this, so i take no responcibility if it bricks your copy of the game

Hi,

I personally prefer to disable "privacy bar bottom" and "privacy bar top" instead of removing them.

- edit customization_items.xtbl
- go to lines 544 and 545 for items "privacy bar bottom" and "privacy bar top"
- change <disabled>no</disabled> to <disabled>yes</disabled>
- pixelization is removed :)

I did the same for Saints Row 2 and it worked fine :)

Btw instead of repacking misc_tables.vpp_pc with all files do you know another method to use only the changed file ? Thanks :)

Just put your edited xtbl file in the root with the sr3 exe. No need to repack.
 
This is probably something simple i am overlooking.
But when i unpack the VPP files all i get are CMORPH_pc files, and not XTBL files to edit.
 
Here's one with the proper texture included.Also from GVZ which is shutting down dec 22 btw.
EDIT:I forgot you extract to the main folder where the .exe is located.

Gandalf, can you post a little instruction, how we can edit textures.
i can unpack sttr2_pc file, can pack it
i used Gibbed.Volition.ConvertPeg.exe to get png file from cvbm_pc, but i can't pack it back, dunno how, maybe its incorrect way to edit textures
just unpack your f_ideal_d.png, grade work!
