GOG version of SR2 fixed?

Can someone confirm that this is legit or bogus? Someone on the GOG forums claimed to have found a way to removed the 30 FPS cap in the GOG version of the game completely:

Lol, I have never thought that this was a big deal. Yeah, they used Nvidia inspector and it lays in the game folder. This is a simple profiler, you can run it and change a setting, also I guess exe renaming is working too.

I wasn't just talking about the Nvidia Inspector, I was asking for confirmation on the so-called "Patch" that was mentioned in the post, "Zyankali, a fellow GOG user, did a patcher to remove it completely. It is only possible due to his help to remove the final cap"

Is it really legit or some malware (bogus)?

I would say it's too suspicious. Also, I don't understand how hex editing should work only on AMD. Frame limiter should work for all systems if you did it once why you add nvidia inspector?

I'm just a few that uses AMD cause I can't afford to buy a Nvidia graphics card at the moment. I too think that .exe file is suspicious as well so I'm not downloading it.

I've used that fps unlocker and it just changes a few bytes in the game .exe

If you don't want to run the program you can open the SR2_pc.exe in a hex editor such as HxD and change the following:

Offset 00920D5A to 00920D5E from
E9 95 64 09 00
to
E8 D1 F4 FF FF

and further down:

Offset 009B71F4 to 009B7209 from
90 B9 00 00 00 01 90 E2 FD 90 90 90 E8 2B 90 F6 FF E9 55 9B F6 FF
to
00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

And that should unlock the FPS in the GOG version.

In others words, you're saying it's harmless? Cool, thanks I'm going to get it now!
