This screen shot... I don't even... what? MORE DLC?!

I just hope they do make the upgrades you can make to your char troggle like. so you can turn off the infinite ammo, or the no falling damage. And please, pray that they won't make the dual wield pistols or SMG's permanent again! ! My character looked more awesome with one pistol then with 2. =P

The upcoming save editor will allow you to toggle all upgrades, along with stuff like reinstating all the gangs postgame. Corrodias took over development from Minimaul and it's almost ready for release. I had a chance to test out the latest build last night and other than a few minor interface things was totally solid.

Also, the very first thing I did was turn off dual wielding. ;)

You, sir, are my absoulte hero! :D You are doing awesome work! <3

You should be thanking Corrodias for this one. He's the one that spent the last week non-stop making it happen. I just helped out a little with some testing and feedback. :)

Corrodias! Wherever you are! You are also a hero! And of course, all the other modders out there who try to make this pearl of a game even better. =)

I heard the news: "enter the dominatrix" will be in sr4?
I don't like it... I like the excessiveness in sr3, but i like to fight other gangs, play as a crime lord: alien invasions?
I rather play Duke Nukem then. And the new thq boss was'nt the one who said that he didn't liked sr3?
Bah, we'll see in 2013 (if thq don't fail before)

This is a wild guess, but...

I have a feeling that the EtD stuff will be put into a small series of missions, similar to the Deckers with the VR chair and the cyber world. I would be pretty shocked if the whole game ended up like that. /speculation

I agree. Besides, they already said they would put your protagonis in a virtual steelport. I dunno.. But.. I wouldn't put it past Volition to add actual aliens in the game. xD As long as it turns out to be fun, I am all for it. =P

Really, what worries me is the SPEED of this turnabout.
How long ago did they announce EtD as an actual thing? Then how long after that did they announce that they changed their mind and will fold it into SR4, confirming that SR4 is likely gonna be bumped a bit forward?

What this sounds like is the new game is becoming even more rushed to fill a gap in the revenue stream. A year is not enough time to make a game this big, even when the company CAN pull it off somewhat the result is buggy and slashed and half-complete (ala say KOTOR2). The result when you rush it is typically either your classic sports game (who has all the innovation of most Hollywood movies based on a tv show no one cares about now) or worse it completely destroys faith most had in a franchise (ala Dragon Age 2).

I'm expecting the DA2 result. A lot of reused areas in the game, a pretty dumb plot, very little customization in compared to the first, a loss of the fun things that were why we played SR2 (and 3 to a slightly lesser extent) and then they'll say "Well, we had to do the game in a year, this was the best we could manage". But by that point it'll be too late, a game is only in development until it ships... after that it's declared done and people grade it on that.

I'm wondering if it wouldn't be best if modding focus was put on SR2 and seeing if the engine can be improved in quality once the model format is cracked.. it's supposedly easier to work with than SR3 in parts, and SR4 looks like it's gonna be a wash. :(

It depends if they will start on the game now, or if they were already working on it fast after the release of SR3. I mean, with SR2, when it was released, they started working on SRTT 3 months after the release of SR2. And this engine is good. They got a large head start. With SRTT they had to create a whole new city. If SR4 will still be in Steelport, then that is half the game. Sure, the voice acting must be done, new story, and if they are using EtD as a theme, it could work out fine.

Lets say they will go the same way as every SR. 3 major gangs you have to defeat and say they use the aliens as one gang, then still have to make 2 more. And what if they've already been working on the story for 4 when the story for SRTT was arleady finished.

And as the president of THQ said, EtD looked awesome, but can be even better with more time and recourses (probably money.) And I am sure they've been scouting the web for comments on SRTT that they will improve in SR4. I don't care if they use the same engine as it looks now, it still looks awesome for a large Sandbox game as Saints Row. No, I am not worried. As long as they keep the character creation in the game. I think that is one of the strongest points in Saints Row.
