Outstanding! This is a lot of great information, and I really appreciate you taking the time to look into all of this for me.
I love these screenshots. They are informative, but they are also absolutely hilarious. SUPER EXCELLENT! Is that actually Pierce wearing the STAG armor in the first screenshot, or is that just a STAG soldier? Because if Pierce's and Shaundi's faces are replaced with basic STAG soldiers, will their faces and mouths react in cutscenes and gameplay when they talk? Jenny, too? If not, then perhaps they should be equipped with the same helmet as the player—the helmet that completely covers the face and eyes (pictured).
So, obviously, the player wears a unique STAG helmet that fully covers the face and has a reflective visor so that you can't see the eyes. If characters like Pierce, Shaundi, or Jenny (Gangsters in Space) were to wear the armor, then their faces would be covered, too, which would be fine. But certain key characters from the campaign and DLCs wearing STAG armor isn't 100% necessary. Not everyone needs to be wearing armor. Pierce, Shaundi, and Jenny (Gangsters in Space) would be the only characters I would pick.
This way, it keeps the campaign feeling like the original game but also adds in my STAG roleplay. For example, Kinzie wouldn't wear STAG armor, and obviously Oleg is fine just the way he is. Zimos staying as a Pimp makes perfect sense as well.
But if putting main characters from the campaign/DLC in STAG armor and cutscenes or in general causes any sort of issues, then it's not 100% necessary. More often than not—well, at least on my Xbox (I've never played this game on PC before)—whenever I try to call characters like Pierce or Shaundi, their phones are "busy," so I end up just recruiting three Saints homies as followers instead, which is fine. Homies are the ones that are patrolling around Saints controlled territories anyway, so it's a lot more immersive to walk up to them, recruit them, and then they follow me.
As far as STAG skins for Gang Customization goes, the STAG troops in your screenshots are absolutely perfect. That way, I, as the player wearing the unique helmet that the player unlocks after completing STAG Film, will stick out and be more unique as their leader.
Speaking of homies, is it possible to edit the player character's skeleton to stand and walk with his weapons at the low ready, just like the Saint homies (screenshots) or like the STAG soldiers in the image I provided? For example, when STAG soldiers are patrolling the streets of Steelport, they have their weapon at the low ready while they're walking. Your character kind of has their weapon on their hip, if that makes sense. It's hard to explain because I don't have a picture of my character walking with his rifle. But when your character walks, they have their rifle in a different position than, say, a STAG Soldier would. I want my character to walk like the STAG soldiers do.
Having my character hold his weapons at the low-ready makes him look and feel more like an actual soldier, rather than just holding his rifle at his side with one hand, like in the picture of my character with Jenny on the landing pad. She, for example, has her own standing/resting stance as well.
As you can see in the images I provided, when your character is standing with the sniper rifle, for example, he holds it at the low ready with two hands. But, as in the picture with Jenny, with any other weapon, like a shotgun, rifle, or SMG, he just holds it down at his side. Not very soldier-like. But this is just my OCD and me being nitpicky. If this cannot be done, or too much time and effort goes into it, that is completely fine.
And if it's possible, can Pierce and Shaundi be equipped with STAG armor after arriving in Steelport? Jenny after Gangsters in Space? If not, that's fine, too. With Pierce and Shaundi appearing in spacesuits for the "Save Shaundi ending," maybe it would be best to leave main characters out of STAG armor entirely.
I want to clarify: the large majority of this roleplay will be played almost entirely in free roam. That's why I mentioned earlier that main characters being equipped with STAG armor isn't 100% necessary, because I am so used to just recruiting standard Saints troops as followers. And having the Saints followers equipped with STAG skins would prevent Saints from attacking STAG troops that were programmed as followers, if that makes sense. Keeping it as simple as possible is best. So, having the Saints just equipped with STAG skins, so that they're basically vanilla followers but equipped with STAG skins, I think that would work best.
Speaking of Saints homies, it sounds like it would be a lot easier to just equip the Saints homies with STAG skins, rather than just straight up recruiting STAG troops as followers. And that works just fine with me. If we can get off the Wanted levels completely, so that the Saints are technically allied with STAG and law enforcement, that would be great.
But if not, that's okay, because I can just call the mayor, get the wanted level removed, and then we're back to business as usual. I just don't want STAG or the police to attack me and my three STAG homies when we are patrolling around the city, fighting the Syndicate.
No worries on the language string edits. That is completely fine. Like I said, if putting main characters in STAG armor causes too many issues, then we don't have to worry about it. As I said before, I am so used to recruiting basic Saints homies anyway. So, just having a bunch of "red-shirt" STAG soldiers follow me around is a lot more immersive anyway.
As far as the step-by-step instructions go, they make sense for the most part. When I'm actually sitting in front of my computer, have the game installed, and am beginning to install these mods, it should make more sense. But if I have any more questions, I'll be sure to respond to this thread.
Oh, absolutely! I am all about sharing, especially for other STAG fans like me. I want them to be able to use these mods for their role-plays as well. "STAG Roleplay" sounds like a perfect mod name to me.
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I really cannot thank you enough. As soon as all of this is done and I'm actually able to do this, you will be helping me achieve a goal I've wanted since 2011.
