I built more than 100 machines in my live but only 2 AMD's cause I like Intel.
1. put fast RAM into it the more the better.
2..The mainboard should have as much slots as you can get.(For future expansions and stuff.
3.Use a fast standard HD for the system partition the rest can be SSD.For faster performance you can use two drives in raid mode.
4.Use a powerful power supply.
Thats the way I built my machines and they run fast and last long.
