    Re: Flippy's video

I think that's where the name of the software comes from. Sometimes software naming is very dumb (and I like that). I found this while looking up file formats: https://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/threads/what-does-cts-stand-for.2615/post-21516

    Re: Flippy's video

No. So far it's been just me so I've been pushing whatever to master without much thought. I think I'll open a github project.

    Re: Flippy's video

I exchanged a few messages with @SaintsReborn before, and OpenMW is exactly what I referred to. I asked him about this already, we'll get them at some point. Edit: I can't read. Check out this repo I created a couple days ago: https://github.com/saintsrowmods2/volition-docs Contributions are...

    Re: Flippy's video

I don't think DS has any grounds to take down a fan project that contains none of their material. But this whole thing also relies on uncertain reverse-engineering efforts with no guarantees of success, so I'd feel a bit iffy about accepting money from the community anyway.

    Re: Flippy's video

Probably better chances of success than trying to fix the original engine.

    Re: Flippy's video

Despite all the bad blood, I think everyone in this thread wants the site and the community to stay.

    Destructible trees

I guess this mod mostly counts as a generic improvement, but turning saints row into a lumberjack simulator is also just the right kind of nonsense to me.

    Re: Flippy's video

Yeah, that sounds doable, as I'm actively running things on Debian and Nginx. For the rest I'd have to look up stuff, though I have some experience with phpBB from a long time ago. I'll be here, message me when or if there's a need.

    Re: Flippy's video

I was a bit uncertain of what's gonna happen to the site with you gone for years, so this post is welcome. What's the site running on? Not to take over the ownership, but I can volunteer for server maintenance, if there's a need.

    Goodbye Volition

Yeah, I've seen some amazing things things done with Houdini, like the Unreal Engine Matrix thing.

    Goodbye Volition

Sorry to get your hopes up like that, but what I meant is that I started making my own tools. I don't have the volition world editor. Games, hopefully

    Goodbye Volition

It hurts a bit that all of that is now essentially lost. Aside of documentation, there were some cool things that I wish would have seen the light of day outside of Volition. But even though it's gone, I'm left with something. Inspired by Volition, I started working on cool things of my own...

    Goodbye Volition

I want to do something, but I don't quite know what. This here is probably the best way to describe how I feel. It was a complete rug pull, from somewhat hopeful to nothing.

    Goodbye Volition

Would love to believe in miracles, but yeah, fat chance. I had thought of reworking the editor into a game since the beginning, but didn't bother because of the official patch. Now, maybe.

    Goodbye Volition

Well shit, today I opened discord and got some news aight. Such a shame, I thought the reboot was doing at least okay-ish. This would also mean that fixing sr2 is now solely up to the community.

    SR2 Material doc

I thought it might be a good idea to start documenting things properly. So here's SR2 material format, or what I know at least. This is based on what I've been doing with chunkfiles, but considering how similar the cmesh/smesh format looks at a quick glance, this may be useful there too. It's...

    A map editor?

Yeah, the chunks have collision and a lot of information about where it's placed, and object positions and whatnot are in global coords already. Not sure if has everything, like loading zone, for example but it could be. But I was thinking rearranging as in building a new world, starting from...

    A map editor?

I had previously assumed that chunks are hardcoded in the exe. This is tempting, imagine adding new chunks or rearranging the world. I guess reversing it may also help with chunkfiles themselves.

    A map editor?

Another update. - Assign a parent cityobject to a light source. Used for street lights, for example. - Positions of child lights are now relative to their parents instead of world origin. - @ItsIggy Unknown 10 in light data is exposed. Still no clue what it does, but it experimenting should be...

Hey by the way, do you know much about city_pc files?
