Saints Row 2: Juiced Patch Mod Manager

EDIT: I've also noticed the Conflict Checker still checks for mods not currently active;
Code:
Duplicate file: temperature_effects.xtbl
MySoftWeatherMod.mp4 - MyWeatherMod.mp4

Duplicate file: time_of_day.xtbl
MySoftWeatherMod.mp4 - MyWeatherMod.mp4

Duplicate file: weather.xtbl
MySoftWeatherMod.mp4 - MyWeatherMod.mp4

Duplicate file: Weather_text.xtbl
MySoftWeatherMod.mp4 - MyWeatherMod.mp4

Duplicate file: weather_time_of_day.xtbl
MySoftWeatherMod.mp4 - MyWeatherMod.mp4
I did a whoopsie and used the old ver (hence the formatting), tho this still persists in the new version even after unticking
The conflict checker is based on the folder hierarchy rather than loose list

i could change that if it makes it less confusing i suppose

Yeah, I think it would when people have a hundred serparate mods in their mods folder (or worse, a compilation mod), in that case it makes it progressively easier to look at which files to keep activated or not. Of course it could also be a toggle in the settings if you think both designs have their use

would it be better for it to check between all mods in the load order or just ones currently active?

ones currently active.
but that's just my opinion, so i think having a setting between the two would be nice

New version

if you would like to test remove the SR2JP_Mod_Manager folder in AppData/Roaming

Is this a "run from anywhere and it auto-detects" function?
Or is there something specific about Steam and GOG for mod managing?

Testing results (GOG):
I only have GOG version installed rn.
Ran .exe in downloads folder, asked me to point it anyway (which I cancelled)
Checked appdata/roaming and didn't see it create a new folder yet, so ran in the Saints Row 2 install folder (A:\game\Saints Row 2), still no dice - it asks me to point to it manually (which works fine)

I do have it in Start Menu and installed using the GOG installer, but not sure if it creates registry entry you can look at. PCGamingWiki told no such things

As mentioned previously I do have two folders that have sr2_pc.exe in it: A:\game\Saints Row 2 and A:\game\Saints Row 2 GOTR+ . the second folder was created through copy and paste (that is, not the GOG installer)

If I'm misunderstanding the update do tell

it would just pop up automatically saying it's detected an installation folder, then proceed to the mod manager

I guess my detection doesn't work, I'll try to see if I can figure something out if not then oh well

I don't expect much from gog anyway due to the entire nature of it being drm free, I doubt it tries to leave much trace behind of any location in registry or what not

would be better if I owned it on gog to test

yeah, tho it depends on the game. some titles like fallout 3/new vegas do create registry entries like usual, and will absolutely bother you if the registry or the documents folder doesn't have the game config files.
but then again that game engine is held together with duct tape so yeah lol

there is also a GOG client called GOG Galaxy which probably gives more info to work on but I think most people just run the game straight from .exe (unless they are not very proficient with computers). personally I find it clunky and don't use it

im contemplating adding a launch game option to the mod manager incase people are using it to test their mod load orders and need it there for convenience.

that sounds good, there may be some people that don't have it pinned to start menu for example.
you may need to add checks/error message if sr2_pc somehow isn't found though, and also prevent people from multi-launching if that is even possible by default
