NPC Model Swap assistance

Yeah, I don't really want to use my crappy plan B anyway, because I'd rather Shaundi not be in a spacesuit for the entire game. Plus this only works for Lin, my full mod is supposed to have Donnie, Dex, Fun Shaundi (over Shaundi), as well as the Stilwater Gangs and Masako. So I'm just done. If I didn't have a full time job, I'd probably have more time and maybe a little extra patience to figure out how to do everything properly, but as it is, I'm getting extremely frustrated with nothing working like it's supposed to.

I'm not good with words or phrasing, so I'll just have to say this next part the only way I can think to, and hope it doesn't offend anybody, because that's not my intent...

SR has an entire modding community that regularly visits this very site to check out mods, upload their own mods... And even request help with making mods...

Yet you seem to be the only person available to try and help me. Which makes me think that nobody has ever had the problems I'm having, so they don't know how to help me. Because if there was a known solution to this problem, someone would have mentioned it by now.
True, I've never really backported models before, I only ever ported SRTT models to SRIV. There is definitely a way to do this, I'll let you know if I find a way and I'll make an in depth video tutorial.

Admixon has recommended the Gibbed Tools, but I don't quite know how those work yet. Apparently they're better for SRTT files.

Edit:
Wow, ok. So Gibbed f***ed up my game even more than ThomasJepp did. These are some great tools we have here. So clear to understand, completely idiot-proof. I'm so glad I never got into game design, I wouldn't have lasted an hour.

I would say that maybe it's a problem with Lin's model specifically, if it weren't for the fact that I've tried to do the same thing with Fun Shaundi... I'm just so stumped. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. It's times like this where I feel like I am Truman Burbank, and everyone is laughing at me on TV.

Alright, so I am an idiot. The GUI version of the tools do not have an option for SRTT. Using the packfile builder with CMD or Powershell does have the prompt for SRTT and using the arguments ThomasJepp.SaintsRow.BuildPackfile game source output [/condensed:true|false|auto] [/compressed:true|false|auto] [/asm:<asm_pc file>] automatically updates the asm file and outputs a packfile.

So... I'm screwed?

I figured it out. Use GibbedTools to extract the character.vpp of SRTT and use ThomasJepp to extract SRIV character.vpp. Grab <characteryouwanttoreplace>.str2_pc and <characteryouwanttoreplace>_high.str2_pc from the SRTT character folder you extracted and extract both of them with GibbedTools. Now grab <characteryouwanttohave>.str2_pc and <characteryouwanttohave>_high.str2_pc from SRIV and extract both with ThomasJepp tools. Rename the <characteryouwanttohave> files to be the exact names of <characteryouwanttoreplace> before replacing the <characteryouwanttoreplace> files with the files you renamed and repack with GibbedTools. Make sure you replace them with the corresponding files correctly.

Next, grab Viper's ASM Updater from this link: https://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/threads/vipers-updated-asm-updater.13994/
Put the ASM_Updater folder into SRTT's main directory.
Put the packed STR2_PC files that you just packed into the folder alongside the vanilla character_container.asm_pc file from the SRTT character folder.
Run the Update_ASM_Files - after ADDITION or CHANGE of a mod file.bat and let it do its thing.
Done, start the game.

Honestly, is pretty much the contrary.. only few people were able to solve this without issues (Admixon for example). I wanted to port SR2's Playa to swap with Pierce once and didnt work out. Wished i could help but, im just like u in this situation

I figured it out and successfully ported SR2 Shaundi to SR3 replacing the original model.
