Wait, installing mods?

I've had some problems with modding my game for a while, mainly because I use small mods that are hard to recognise differences. But do you literally move the .xtbl file into the sr4 folder (with the exe?)
 
I know with some mods you do (put it with the exe), but just read the readme for the mod in question it will tell you how to install it
 
For like, 90% of all mods, you do that, if it requires anything else then it will say so in the README. Merging mods together is far more involved but if you have to check out the merging tutorial and follow that step by step. I've personally yet to have to merge any more than one mod, and it was so small that I could just use one of minimauls tools rather than getting elbow deep in xtbl files.
