Texture file Replace

Hy,
i editet my texture files with gimp
and replaced them in the .cvbm_pc ang .gvbm_pc files
then i packed the hol packages with gibbed and replaced the file in the right directory,
if i statrt the game ther is nothing replaced,
so i unpacked all, opened in gimp, but there was the edited file...

can somebody help me?
 
The first thing we need is more information. What exact cvbm and gvbm files, and what str2_pc archive did they come from? Also, after packing it back in, did you update the asm_pc file as well? Also, where exactly did you put your repacked streaming archive?

I used the "customize_player.vpp_pc" extracted it into the path of gibbed.
then i extracted the "Default female diffuse.str2_pc" to add some tatos who arent aviable in the tatoo studio
i extractet the "f_ideal_d.cvbm_pc" with SR3UnpackTextures.exe to get the "f_ideal_d.tga.dds"
i edited it whith gimp and saved it as a nomipmap DXT1 compressed file
then i compressed it in the "f_ideal_d.cvbm_pc"
deletet the "f_ideal_d.tga.dds" file and compressed the folder to "Default female diffuse.str2_pc"
then i upgraded the "customize_player.asm_pc" fine
after that i packed all to the "customize_player.vpp_pc" and replaced it in the "Saints Row The Third\packfiles\pc\cache" folder
after all i started the game, but ther where no changes
 
First of all, don't do that last step. You (almost) never want to repack the entire vpp_pc archive. Just put your str2_pc and asm_pc file in the root with the exe.

Also, are you sure you are editing the right file and that texture is what you think it is?
 
i edited the normal map(the only texture file whitch was in that file);

the asm_pc which i hat to put in the root dir, is the updated one out of the vpp_pc file?
