I doubt this was ever actually on the table, but it's fun to imagine it nonetheless.
After being on the enemy gang's side twice, Donnie finally decides to join the Saints. So they set up a bank heist to test out his skills. This also serves as an initiation for Playa's new #2 since Gat moved to a new city to deal with Aisha's death in his own way.
After the Heist goes wrong, the Saints meet Phillipe Loren and discover he has somehow gained access to Aisha's DNA and made two clones of her, renaming them Viola & Kiki DeWynter. Before sacrificing himself, Playa names his #2 the new Leader of the Saints, and orders him to get Shaundi to safety.
After arriving in Steelport and swearing revenge against the Syndicate, the new "Boss" unknowingly re-recruits Lin, Dex, and Gat back into the Saints. Gat being the only surviving Saint to know Dex's history with the Saints, decides to bury the hatchet for the sake of vengence.
