Sex bodyshape slider

I'm not sure if I did actually see a pic of someone having the sex slider, like the one that exists as a mod for SR2, on SRIV, or I hallucinated it. You know, the one to make your bodyshape more masculine/feminine. Does it exists for this game? I spent some time looking for it, but couldn't find it, lol.

If not, is it even possible? Since someone made a mod that enables sliders for skinny, muscle and fat and ethnicity.

It's a Vanilla feature in Saints Row 2, as the Playa's body is just one mesh. But I'm pretty sure in later games the Male and Female body types use separate unique meshes.

I haven't modded the later games personally, so I couldn't say definitively whether it could be done or not. But I wouldn't have thought so.

I guess they are separate meshes in 3 and 4, but I'm not 100% sure. If you use slider mods that go to the extremes and set 100% muscle for the females, they can look... disturbingly masculine, lol. Also, there's this mod that initially I though would kinda achieve what I wanted (though not with a slider) and you only have to do one little tweak on the player_customization file, but I tried it an it does nothing to make males more more male-like and females more feminine... but totally the opposite? LOL. I didn't really get it: https://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/threads/body-sex-customization-mod-very-rudimentary.19120/

I sometime you decided to take a look, I bet a lot of us would be pretty grateful. 3 and 4 character editor has a lot of features, but the lack of particular body sliders (not face) like waist, hips, shoulders, etc., is extremely disappointing, and a sex slider would mitigate the problem a lot.

While I personally don't have the time to try it, wouldn't this already work as-is?
I see it basically moves the slider a bit, so it might be more accurate to say "20% feminine" slider.
Or do you mean something like HS:E?

Yes and no. Both body meshes have the opposite gender as a shapekey (-edit- actually, the male mesh has both, but the male-gender shapekey is empty), but I don't know how broadly supported that is across the various clothing items. All the ones I've tested that imported properly into Blender have maintained their respective gender shapekeys, but that's hardly an exhaustive list. And naturally, custom clothing items modded into the game almost certainly won't have those shapekeys. That being said, I have no idea if the gender control option can be changed from a toggle to a slider, and even if it can be, whether that slider can be hooked up to that particular shapekey.

(corrected an error on my part)

I don't get what you mean, lol.

What I did was try the "Feminine 100%" version. I took screenshots in Image as Designed to compare, and my female boss looked the same with or without the mod, with or without re-selecting her sex, it made no change.

I tried again in both scenarios by changing the sex to male and resetting to female and, again, no change.

WHAT IT DID, though, was made the male boss preset a weird hybrid of male muscles and face in a female-shaped body, lol, and I guess that's the intent of the mod or something, it's not very clear and there are no comments. That's why I ask.

Correct. The shader for the boss's mesh isn't set up to blend the female-body normal maps with the male-body normal maps. I'm also pretty sure the way the meshes deform to change into their opposite gender will mangle any applied tattoos as well. And just for clarity's sake, just because clothing items that shipped with the game have functioning gender shapekeys, that doesn't mean they'll look good with those shapekeys applied. Fair bet they'll look ... off.

Yeah, the result is pretty much cursed, but apparently that was the idea for some reason. I thought that using a 100% feminine file would affect the female players, but sadly, not at all.

Since SR3 and 4 only rely on the "build" stuff, something to tweak the shape further is needed.

Well, I did some additional checking, and even if you could get the game to blend the different body-texture sets together (both the normal maps and diffuse textures), it would still be off in places. For example, the navel is in different places between the two sets of textures, being higher on the stomach for the male textures than it is for the female textures. So, at the very least, trying to blend them would result in there being two navels. Good news is, from what I can tell, the way the body meshes deform shouldn't cause UV-layout issues with things like tattoos. But it does look like the male-body shapekey for the female-boss mesh got messed up at some point in the development process. The right index finger appears to have been accidentally transformed (up, along the z axis) at the second digit, giving it a 'severely dislocated' appearance.
