If you're wondering what these people are going on about there's this horde-based coop shooter on Steam called Payday 2 which MIND you the developers specifically stated there wouldn't be any microtransactions, well... every year the developers; Overkill host an event called "Crimefest" in which they give the community a set of challenges which in turn unlocks extra content for the game. Well this year Overkill decided to go full Order 66 on their fans by not only introducing microtransactions but also scamming the website PD2Stats into oblivion, butchering mod support by disabling all modding formats this game supports (BLT, LUA, PD.MOD etc) and have gone completely silent outside a tweet from the voice actor for the character Chains, Damien Poiter. (BTW two of Overkill's employees Simon Viklund, who voice acted the character Bain and created the game's OST, and Ulf Anderson, the person who did the voice acting for the character Wolf have both recently quit). Oh and if that weren't enough Overkill has decided to start censoring the forums. Kind of like those awful Steam Greenlight devs. Needless to say both the hardcore fans and Newbies are PISSED and this has led into an outrage that has turned into Paid Mods 2: Electric Molotov, Pitchfork and Baseball Bat Boogaloo

Yeah, this caught me off guard when OVK pulled this shit as a STARTING MOVE for their annual event.

Hell, it's gotten so bad that a fellow modder of mine, Kail of Project Canary, pretty much gave up. I'm pretty damn close to dropping DMCWO too if the radio silence isn't broken with an official response.

I had no idea you were the guy behind DeadMansChest. I just wanted to tell you thanks for making such an awesome mod and well wow! Do you think Overkill pulled that sleazy shit where they disabled LUA mods just to make sure people don't flock to Goonmod, DMCWO and MVP? BTW even though it seems like Volition at times is extremely incompetent I'd rather deal with honest mistakes than calculated, disgusting tactics such as what Overkill pulled. Lastly so far it has been three freaking days and still no response from Almir, *sigh* guess it's back to Borderlands and GTA 5 for my "whacky-fun criminal themed shooters that don't try to be appeal to the pretentious hipster SJW's *cough Bioshock Infinite* or appeal to the MLG 420 crowd *cough Call of Duty*"

Just in case you're wondering his name is Almir Listo, and yes he actually stated in an interview that "Payday 2 won't have microtransactions, and if you thought so then shame on you!"

Alright so good news and bad news. The bad news is that Overkill is still refusing to communicate with anybody, however the good news is that someone managed to make an addon of sorts that restores the game pre-Crimefest patch. Here's the link
