So I've been trying to use the extraction program but it just creates empty folders for me, please help?
Gonna need more details...
Which game are you trying to extract from? What's the file extension? Each game has some slight difference.

Works fine for me, just tried the rev133 version on da_tables and skybox.vpp_pc.
Try using the ExtractPackfileGUI version and extracting to desktop (or a folder with no space in the directory name e.g. C:\Users\User\Desktop ).
Alternatively, try using latest Gibbed Tools from github; extract that archive, go in the bin_sr3 folder, then drag the VPP or STR2 to the proper Unpacker
This is especially important if you are working with models. Lately discovered ThomasJepp tools aren't a silver bullet for sr3

So the regular extractpackfile just does nothing, the gui version is the one creating the empty folders, and I tried gibbed first which also didnt work. I dont know I've tried to google this but no one seems to be having these issues.

no problem! thank you for admitting as well, it helps people (including lurkers) fix their own issues.
for Remastered you need to use menthe-sr-tools . Remember to have NET Framework 5.0 installed and take Zopiahhhhhhhhh's tip of changing the .bat file to drag and drop.
