Happy 2016, Volition! How is Saints Row 5 doing?

i want customizable superpowers. it feels like i'm a minority thinking superpowers were the best things in the saints row series. I don't care if it has to be a cheat or an end-game reward.... i just REALLY want more superpowers!!!
while i'm at it. i want a huge, more detailed city this time. i don't think volition can get away with recycling steelport for the 3rd time.... and MAYBE stillwater wouldnt fit a superhero game...
which is why: a new city on a far-off planet where the saints have to conquer. it would be SIMILAR to stillwater and steelport, but far bigger, more detailed, and more futuristic than either. I'm talking LOTS of interiors: stores, malls, strip clubs, casinos, prisons, cribs, enemy strongholds.... make this new city as much a star of the game as the saints are. and make it feel as alive as possible :p

also... while i'm at it... this city doesn't HAVE to rely solely on humans. hell at this point with how 4 ended the saints can have the zin and other races in their ranks, and hell, even as customization for the boss! (i want a cthulu-faced boss!)

that's about all i have, don't listen to haters and go back to the "gansta" style. EMBRACE the idea of a sci-fi gangsta hybrid!
As ling as belts become a separate clothing option and the metal radio station comes back, I'll be happy with it

whoops, my mistake, it has reggae :p
...GenX is a rock station. Four-20 is the one with reggae. :v
There were Heavy Metal stations in Saints Row 1, Saints Row 2 (The Krunch) and The Third (The Blood), it's quite surprising that there's none in IV.

SR5 should be good as long as the game has in-depth customization, a detailed and varied city, good gameplay, a great ost, and actually capitalize on a supposedly whacky idea that doesn't rely on forced movie references. I was kind of disappointed that Volition didn't take jabs at Half-Life, Mass Effect or Xcom with the Zin.

I agree 100% with the sci-fi open world game. Hell maybe it can be set on a series of pillars where you can get a space ship and go to another giant pillar. One idea I thought of is the large city eing one pillar, and another being a wasteland-like area with a series of monsters and alien gangs or something. I think that would be amazing.

However, super powers does sort of kill the vibe of the game. I liked the reliance of vehicles, ships, and guns. Boats were useless though. However I think with my idea, we should start seeing a bigger use for spaceships. Maybe even a system that can customize them as well, or maybe even make your own mechs and such. I can see a series of potential with the sci-fi concept, and maybe even for the new game.

Besides, I think the new planet thing is a go-idea after (SPOILER WARNING) one ending of Gat Out of Hell.

which is why super powers could be an optional side quest and you are able to turn it on or off to change how the game responds. for example, having superpowers on would spawn enemies that must be weakened with superpowers, with the benefit of going around the city on foot with super speed, wheres turning them off would make the enemies able to be gunned down with guns and shit, rely on driving cars and on your gang (though personally i never really used my gang even in sr2, they felt like cannon fodder to me.) like the classics.
