Grass roots 'Merica dlc?

Ok. first off, i have all other dlc for this particular game. including pre-order bonus (tf2 skins) AND the childs play pack. will the grass roots skin be available as seperate dlc for those of us not feeling to drop 30 bucks for it and already HAVE the game with all the other trimmings? it would REALLY suck otherwise, because i want to have all this game has to offer.

well the answer i got was basically its exclusive. to the gotce. ....you are kidding me right? so what you are saying idolninja, is that i have to throw 30 bucks down just for one skin?! no offense, i love the game.... but jesus h christ! how hard is it to (later) release the skin as a small dlc for those of us who bought... literally EVERYTHING else!?!? this is basically a middle finger to those of us who were loyal and wanted to show their support. this is not meant to attack the people who made this game... it cant be too hard to release the skin later on. i still love this game and want to support you guys further.... its just.... if i love something, i have to call them out when they mess up.

Came wondering the same. I've known it was there for months since the last DLC set was released but assumed it was canceled until now.

Edit: Nevermind, just read the Steam forums and found both our answers there. Well, don't know what else to say.

It's only available as part of the Game of the Century Edition. If it's any consolation, it's just a different model with no new vfx or sfx.

I truly do appreciate the reply, and I'm sorry because it's of course nothing against you or anyone else in particular because I don't know who forced this idea anyway, but I'm honestly done supporting any Volition or Deep Silver releases if the people who buy all, or even some of the high-price/low-content DLC considering the all-too-apparent overpricing of even part of it can easily add up beyond the price of GOTC/NT edition, are forced out of having a complete game or simply content they want (and would pay for) because of ridiculous business practices. Exclusivity is bad anyway, but on top of that, rewarding the people who pay less for the game and DLC doesn't even make sense. It's not the content itself or the amount of content in question, but the principle of the matter.

I wouldn't particularly be happy if it were the other way around either, to make it clear. I guess I'm just "living in the past" when if you bought a game, (bar stupid regional differences thanks to crappy ratings boards restrictions) you weren't screwed out of content one way or another.

Anyway, I'm not trying to raise pitchforks and I'm not going to argue with anyone over it. Just my two cents, figuratively speaking unfortunately. Again though, thanks for the straightforward info, it is appreciated Idol.

I bought GotC Upgrade Pack on Humble Bundle because it was on sale and... Really, what's the point of adding this skin to GotC edition? Sound effects for minigun are missing, there's no music in the background and icon is messed up (if you change the weapon in special slot and check the inventory the icon for 'Merica becomes a little white square). Did anyone test it at least once?

I hate necro'ing this thread but I just realized that skin existed yesterday when I started a new game and when I went to switch from the 'Merica gun to Johnny's knife gun, the slot with the 'Merica gun using the Grass Roots skin first turned into a duplicate of the abduciton gun and then it turned into that little white square you mentioned. I just posted about the "bug" on the Steam forum but I doubt this is something Volition is going to fix at this point. For right now I just have it set back to the default skin to get rid of the white square icon but the Steam site does allow one to remove games or dlc content now, and while it says the removal is permanent, the content can be restored later on. Why am I mentioning this? It may be be best just to remove that dlc pack, its pretty pointless anyways since what makes the 'Merica gun amusing is how patriotic it is made to look and the grass roots skin strips the gun of its uh.. humor.

...what's the point of removing this DLC permanently if you can just disable it in game properties? Anyway, I won't be talking about this skin anymore, I already bitched about it in this thread.
