Game is Suddenly Stuttering

I have been replaying the game with GOTR and the Made 2 Measure mods, and other than the typical occasional crashes, I wasn't really having any issues with the game lagging even with the settings enabled that are known to cause that issue. I took a few days away from playing, and when I loaded back up to play again, the game was suddenly stuttering/lagging during gameplay, and I hadn't changed any settings in the game or with my computer or graphics card. I know the PC port is buggy as hell, but I just find it odd that the game was running fine for me before and now it's suddenly having a problem, so I was just wondering if anyone has any idea what could be wrong and how to possibly fix it.

It's probably a bad Windows or graphics card driver update, or somehow the game switched to using the internal Intel graphics instead of your dedicated graphics card.

If you haven't installed Juiced patch already, It's recommended that you follow this guide, although you may lose save progress doing so: https://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum...g-juiced-v7-1-0-or-later-for-beginners.24030/
You may also want to want to install DXVK (download first one, put x32 > d3d9.dll in same folder as sr2.exe I believe) to improve general performance.

Do i put the x32 folder itself in with the sr2.exe or just the d3d9.dll? Cause putting just the .dll file in there made it crash instantly after launching.

Yeah just the .dll .
Maybe you need to use a previous version? Some older graphics cards lost compatibility in 2.6 or something due to not having updated Vulkan instructions.

There is a text log file generated in the same folder which may give you precisely what you need to search what the problem exactly is (forgot what it's called though).

This what the log file says:

info: Found device: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 ( 0.0.0)
info: Skipping: Device does not support Vulkan 1.3
warn: DXVK: No adapters found. Please check your device filter settings
warn: and Vulkan drivers. A Vulkan 1.3 capable setup is required.

So I'm assuming there's no way I can use it with my current graphics card.

Probably yes, but I would suggest trying each major version in a backwards order (2.6, 2.5, 2.4 ...) and/or reading the release notes to see if they support a lower Vulkan version. You may also want to update the driver if it's not on the latest version incase there's extra Vulkan support

Hey dude, SR2 PC strikes again with its random quirks. Been there a hundred times with GOTR + clothing mods like M2M.

Since it was running smooth then suddenly started stuttering after a break with zero changes on your end, 99% chance it's either:

1. Stealth Windows update or GPU driver auto-update (NVIDIA GeForce Experience can mess with SR2). Roll back your drivers to whatever you had before via Device Manager > Display Adapters > Properties > Driver tab, or use DDU for a clean uninstall + install older ones

2. GOTR patch got corrupted somehow. Fire up the GotR builder, clear your custom patch folder, rebuild fresh (tick all the usual suspects but untick any suspect streams if you're experimenting), then delete loose.txt in your SR2 root and let it regen on launch

3. Quick fixes that solve 80% of stutters:
- Right-click SR2_pc.exe > Properties > Compatibility > Disable fullscreen optimizations + Run as admin.
- Add "-windowed -noborder" to launch options in Steam (forces borderless, reduces vsync lag).
- Cap FPS to 60 via RivaTuner or in-game if possible.
- If you're on dgVoodoo2 (you should be), tweak the config for your GPU (search "dgVoodoo SR2 stutter" on Reddit for presets).

Launch clean first (disable all mods except core GotR), test a mission, then layer M2M back on. If it persists, drop your specs + dxdiag here and we'll debug

Fixed mine last week the same way hang in there, she'll run great again!
by chance, which version of windows u have? if the case is 11, which version of windows 11 u have? (24h2?, 25h2?)

This sr2 port always pulls this random stutter bullshit outta nowhere lol. same thing hit me after a short break last month. 99% chance its some sneaky driver or windows update fucking things up. just rolled back my gpu drivers and rebuilt the gotr patch fresh and it smoothed right out again. give that a go and itll probably be good. This Saints Row stuttering is super annoying, kinda like hitting a rough patch at the tables and watching your betting funds disappear quick. The lag feels worse than missing out on a big jackpot spin on the slots, but I switched things up by diving into real online gambling for better vibes. The excitement at member login page this awesome JeetCity online casino totally tops everything with smooth slots, blackjack, roulette, poker, betting options and massive jackpot chances that keep paying out nicely. I claimed the generous welcome bonus, loaded up on free spins for some top pokies, and landed a solid win just last night—the live dealer tables run flawlessly with zero lag too. Crypto deposits hit instantly so you can jump back in for more fun and money-making action anytime. Thousands of games to pick from and the wins feel way more satisfying than dealing with a glitchy game, it's straight-up gambling heaven.
