Not just a dynamic_tod_enable function.


There haven't been any changes since October. I spent the entire month trying to fine-tune how it would look, but I couldn't get it to look right.
(I gave up, so there hasn't been any activity for three months.)

In this repository, you'll find some information on how to 'create your own dynamic tod' and activate it.

This will work in SRTT, but requires the Dynamic Time of Day from the Zolika's Menu.


In SRTT SRIV and SRGOOH, the tod is frozen. Only the sriv_legacy has a native function for activating the dynamic tod (dynamic_tod_enable). For SRTT there is only in Zolika's Menu.
The mod will work without asi or exe modifications only in sriv_legacy.
 
Bruh this mod is something i have been waiting for since wow a little more than a decade i never knew why Volition stop making actual Dynamic Time of Day the only game that ever had it was SR1 SR2 and SR Reboot

It seems to me that Volition simply didn't have time to finish the dynamic tod feature. As far as I know, they took the SR2 engine and rewrote some parts to bring it up to modern standards.

What I noticed while experimenting with dynamic time of day in sriv:

There's no sun in the sky. It's simply an "orbital object" whose position is tied to the time of day and doesn't depend on the actual position of the sunlight source. Because of this, sunrise/sunset occurs earlier/later than the sunlight source.

When streetlights are turned on, the sun's shadows disappear, making the transition from day to night look bad.

Reflections sometimes flicker and go crazy.
