Amazon PCDD and Powertools

I am thinking about picking up Saints Row 2 when it goes on sale on Amazon for $3.74.

It is not going to be activateable on Steam. Will powertools work with this legitimate copy or is it a Steam exclusive solution?

Powertools only works with the Steam version of SR2. Both the retail boxed and direct download version from Amazon activate on Steam though, so you should be fine.

Well, I suppose there is a chance that something has recently changed. I personally received multiple confirmations on many different forums that it is the Steam version. Amazon sends you a Steam key via email with your purchase you can use.

I am very excited to check out your work in helping fix this great game's terrible port. Thank you very much!! I doubt I would play the game if folks like yourself had not taken the time and effort to make this game playable.
