Isn't it just an evolution of the old one? Well the leap was pretty big though, and the entire chunk format was blown up. I would have done exactly that already if I could. If you can reverse engineer and document file formats from sr2 and srtt, I welcome your effort.

I don't think DS has any grounds to take down a fan project that contains none of their material. But this whole thing also relies on uncertain reverse-engineering efforts with no guarantees of success, so I'd feel a bit iffy about accepting money from the community anyway.

Probably better chances of success than trying to fix the original engine.

Despite all the bad blood, I think everyone in this thread wants the site and the community to stay.

I guess this mod mostly counts as a generic improvement, but turning saints row into a lumberjack simulator is also just the right kind of nonsense to me.
