If you do buy the game, then a lot of stuff is optional. You can have a classic build with regular weapons and none of the over the top stuff. Nothing is forced on the player this time around, thank god.

Personally, I'm just glad they're channeling more of SR2 into it ESPECIALLY in the story. People can shit on SRTT and SRIV all they want, but they did allow you to go on crazy rampages, the same can be said for two but with less crazier weapons.

I mean Saints Row shows no signs of turning into a battle royale like at all. Even then, battle royale games are fun but every game doesn't have to have them. 🤷♂️
The main criticism I consider invalid is anything that attempts to highlight the game as "Woke, SJW, political" nonsense. Those buzz words are typically used by people who literally have no understanding of the franchise from SR1 to SRR. Or they're trying to live some sort of gangster fantasy...
One thing I must say is that the new system definitely is one that takes getting used to. I started out having some trouble making a good looking person and now it comes naturally when messing around with the new system. I do miss the extra sliders from the previous games though.
