Would this be feasible? (change to forum rules)

You know how there's a rule saying you have to be 18 to comply with UK law about freely-available adult content? Well there's already a section specifically for adult content, and it's already against the rules to post it anywhere else, so why not just have users who specify their birth date as being under 18 blocked from that one section, but let them everywhere else? That way people with no interest in adult content can still join and post here without lying about their age or otherwise violating forum rules, and you wouldn't need to ban someone who otherwise wouldn't deserve a ban.

(Also I assume this is the right section, because I couldn't find one for forum-related topics like many forums have. If I just missed that section, or if there's another better one I overlooked, feel free to move it there.)

Sorry to tell you but I think that it wont be changed, could be rong but the Sains Row games are rated 18 so basicly any content is not suitble for any one under 18

and as for that quote I know its not from you but im gussing its saying that you could find worst on google?
if so then not realy as google have changed theyr search function alot over the last year, also if you are under a certain age it is your pairens responsibility to set up a safe search filter at the end of the day, I know when I was younger going back long time now things where diffrent these days you see kids as young as 6 or 7 playing 18 rated games its awfull kids should be kids you only get once chance to be youthfull and inosent why soil it

Kids these days would use InPrivate(IE), Incognito(Chrome) browsing, or the like, turn of Safe search...
Though you're right about SRs' age rating.

Its up to the pairents/gaurdians of the child to controll that kind of stuff, the company puts in safegaurds for certain content due to age restriction etc so they have coverd them selfs in terms of public liabilaty, so if people choose to circumvent these safegaurds thats not realy the companys problem :p

If you want me to be honest, banning someone because of his age is total nonsense for me. If someone is wise enough to play violence games and post on the forum his/her age shouldn't count. I'm voting for locking access to Adult Corner.

Sorry to tell you but its prohibited by UK law ;) thats where I live ;D thats why people have to be over 18 and if they lie then thats fraud at the end of the day not much can be done about this as the internet is worldwide an people from many difrent countrys that have diffrent laws are all part of it :)

sorry for being from the country that screws it all up for you :')

Hm... I thought that only access to porno is forbitten by UK law.
Its all adult content I think not 100% tho hard to find much info in it, I think if its just things of a sexual nature then as the game has weapons such as anal probe and dildo bat things like that would fall under the same law I think and I just found this on a law website made me laugh so much the last part iv put it in italics

Obscene Publications Act 1959 and 1964

The law makes it an offence to publish, whether for gain or not, any content whose effect will tend to "deprave and corrupt" those likely to read, see or hear the matter contained or embodied in it. This could include images of extreme sexual activity such as bestiality, necrophilia, rape or torture.

Edit: Just got this fromthe Forum rules aswell

You must be 18 or older to
  1. register and post on this forum. This is to comply with UK law which does not allow adult content to be freely accessible to minors
