Where does Saints Row go from here?

Everyone knows the Saints Row franchise is Volition´s biggest moneymaker, even though popularity has dropped since Saints Row The Third. The only way I see for Volition to keep just a bit of life in the franchise is to remake Saints Row 1, maybe in HD like Rockstar did with San Andreas and release it for either current gen platforms and PC or last gen and PC. I would definitely buy Saints Row 1 even if it was a remake cuz´ I never played it. Due hard PC gamer and SR1 was only released for Xbox 360.

What do you guys think? Will Volition just say that´s it and invent something new or will they remake SR 1 and maybe SR2 in HD for current gen platforms?

I played SR1 and while HD would be nice, I don't think it will have aged very well. At least from what I remember.

Probably down the same crazy road it's on now. Considering how big SRIV did with the money, I doubt they're abandoning the theme for a good long while.

I wonder if Idol Ninja would feel comfortable indulging us in a little about what's to come for the future of this franchise?

I think a huge reason SRIV and maybe even SR3 seem so big is that the games are frequently price cut to around $5.00USD.

Makes me regret paying full price for SR3 and 4 if all I had to do is wait one week and get it 99% off with all 200 DLC included.

Edit: Also, I believe Idol Ninja himself stated somewhere in this forum that a remastered/HD version of SR1 or SR2 is unlikely .

Extremely unlikely.

Yeah but still the last game was a cut down version, meaning that it didn´t have a full size storyline and it didn´t really feel like a new Saints Row game. It was over so quickly. Anyway if they decide to continue to pump out crazy games, shit I´m down!

Well with Volition now under the helm of a less restrictive company (Deep Silver) and the fact that IdolNinja now works there it's safe to assume that Volition will be able do a hell of a lot more than when they were under THQ.
