Stacking Mods

I just began playing with mods, and I found out that mods with similar names e.g. unlockables.xbtl don't work if there's more than 1. Renaming them doesn't seem to work as well. How do I get around this?

You merge them.
You pick the file with the most changes made to it, then you modify that file with the changes from the other file.

I see. Do I do that with a tool or do I have to manually edit the lines in each mod?

Manually edit. Or use WinMerge, but that only works if the mod authors didn't totally reformat the files.
