SR2 crashes please help!

I recently got sr2 thinking it would be fun since I had already played saints row 3. Unfortunately it constantly crashes in the intro when the game spy logo appears. My computer has windows 10, I only have one monitor, I also manually gave sr2 the settings.dat file but nothing has changed except the resolution. My friend said to use gentlemen of the row and I got it but what do I do? Do I create a vanilla patch? What mods do I add? Do I even need Gotr?
 
I was doing the same thing, and found I had to run it in 256 colours... using these settings. As I can't find the FAQ that most people use to fix SR2 crashes and I suspect you can't either here is what my settings look like.

you dont create vanilla patch you hit p to build a custom patch then take the files from my custom patch and put them in your sr2 directory
