For years now, the Saints Row Wiki has worked towards moving away from Fandom to an independent wiki host. Thanks to our friends at Wiki Federation, we have succeeded in doing so.
As of May 3rd, 2025, I’m happy to announce that the Wiki is finally ready to be publicized and can be accessed and edited at:
https://saintsrow.wiki
Some of the reasons we decided to do this is:
Ads
If you frequent Fandom wikis, you might have noticed that the site is plagued by ads. At points (like when on mobile), the site is barely usable due to the number of ads they present you. This is purely motivated by Fandom’s desire to make most money out of other people’s free labor.
Disagreements with staff
If you follow up news, you might have heard about stuff like the the McDonalds/Grimace incident, where McDonalds paid them to vandalize the McDonalds wiki to serve as an ad for the Grimace Shake.
Sadly, similar thing has happened to the Saints Row Wiki. As many of you are aware, during 2022’s reboot’s marketing campaign the wiki became affiliate with Deep Silver. In the process, they kicked the previous bureaucrat, 452, off the admin team and instead given him his own wiki to run at saintsrowclassic.fandom.com. This wiki is at a risk of being deleted at any moment, as Fandom already lied to him when making this deal.
After doing so, they proceeded to delete information off the wiki that didn’t match marketing team’s narrative, turning articles into glorified ads for the reboot. Luckily, the game featured a brand-new cast so the damage was minimal, but them doing that without any notice or communication with existing editors shows that they cannot be trusted.
More community control over the Wiki
As of right now, the Fandom wiki is purely controlled by Fandom staff as the only bureaucrat was replaced and a replacement was never installed, as they abandoned the wiki as soon as the paychecks started arriving. If we would like something changed, we would have to contact Deep Silver and beg them to email Fandom and have them change it.
Censorship
If you have recently checked on the Fandom’s article for the Penetrator, you might have noticed that there are no images of the penetrator, just the censored Japanese version. This is because Fandom decided that the images are “too explicit” to be next to the advertisement they forced on the site, despite being only one single article out of the thousands present on the wiki.
As Saints Row Wiki’s mission is to document everything about Saints Row, and Saints Row being a mature series features tons of explicit content, being hosted by a company that censors that type of content is not fitting.
Conclusion
For many years, Saints Row Wiki served as a great reference point for everything Saints Row related. A lot of people found out about the secrets hidden in this game from the wiki that they wouldn’t have found out otherwise. It is important for the community that the wiki continues to exist, and people continue putting their passion into adding all the details about this beloved series.
As such, we need to reclaim our Wiki and make it community ran again, instead of profit driven. Saints Row belongs to us now.

Why Move?
For years now, Fandom has proven itself to be an unreliable host for a library of information, especially not for a series as raunchy as Saints Row.Some of the reasons we decided to do this is:
Ads
