Saints Cops

This is the "In Progress" thread for my mod Saints Cops. The latest (and currently only) version can be found here: http://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/threads/saints-cops-v0-1.4125/

It was fairly easy to add the Saints Peacemaker to the gang vehicle list, so easy that I suspected it was simply cut content. This seems to be all but confirmed as I've tried to add several other vehicles to the list and have not had nearly as much success.

It appears there may be an additional flag of some sort preventing random vehicles from being added to the gang customization list easily. I'm going to have to do some looking to see if I can figure out what it is.

The vehicle, when added to the list, shows up ingame on the list, but has no model displayed and cannot be actually selected for use by your gang:

I'm displaying this with the Saints N-Forcer but I've tried it with the Pacemaker, the Gunslinger, and a few others, selecting variants from their lists. I suppose it's possible it's as simple as the game checking the variant's name to make sure it matches the string 'saints' but I suspect it's something different than that, perhaps something to do with vehicle customization or randomization of vehicle options in the open world- however, as I tested this with the Saints N-Forcer, which only has one model and cannot be edited, I suspect it is something specific to gang customization that I'm not aware of.

I know there's another mod out there that adds gang vehicles as I got a mention of a conflict between our mods on the release page. I'll have to open that one up and look around to try to learn what I'm doing wrong here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as this is my first mod.

Probably the best place for this would be in Mods in Progress, showing that you are actively working on it.
 
this thread is now my In-Progress thread for Saints Cops. I'll be updating this and checking it regularly as I work on the mod and try to figure out how to add the features I'm looking to add.
 
Don't some vehicles actually have "Saints" versions? Could be that the Peacemaker was intended to be a gang car but left out, and therefore has a Saints version.

And, didn't the Saints N-Forcer have some kind of DLC protection in SR TT? Maybe that carried over?

Yeah I'm just throwing ideas here :P

That's what I suspect, yes. The Peacemaker is one of those vehicles with a Saints variant, despite said variant (as far as I know) not appearing anywhere in the game.

I'm wondering if there's a specific flag somewhere in the code regarding which vehicles are allowed to be gang vehicles that is checked by the game before allowing you to select it, perhaps as a bug-squashing measure. If there is, and the Saints Peacemaker was intended to be used as a gang car but left out, it would have that flag activated.

And, didn't the Saints N-Forcer have some kind of DLC protection in SR TT? Maybe that carried over?
As I noted, I've tried it with other vehicles besides the N-Forcer. The N-Forcer is just the one I happened to screencap.

Also, IdolNinja's additional cheats mod allows the Saints N-Forcer to be added via cheat code which I'd assume would also be verboten by DLC DRM.
