My screen keeps loading when i press continue after I mod the game

I got SR4 on steam it was on sale but literally any mod I try to load into it breaks the game, I follow the instructions load the mod in the main folder and when I try to play the game it loads for a bit then the music cuts off and it infinitely loads. Any way I can fix this?
