Making game work on W11

I recently reinstalled the game and it's the first time on my new PC, but I CTD'd after the first mission. Figured it was a "normal" crash. But then I started it up again and loaded that file. CTD'd again. Loaded another file at the same point. It loaded in fine enough. Ran around for a minute, but then the FPS suddenly tanked to 1-3fps. I could only get stable if I looked at the ground. This never happened to me on my older and weaker laptop

I can only imagine that W11 is not really compatible with the game. Is there anything I can do to make it more stable for my system? Because it's unplayable as it is right now and I'd really like to play it co-op soon
