Is there a guide out there to explain how to replace a single song in the game?

Just saying... it needs to be in the game :p

Any idea how difficult this would be? I am actually willing to expend a fair amount of effort to it, just wondering how plausible it'd be currently. I'm assuming if it's possible someone's figured it out for SR3.

It is possible. Check out this guide for SR:TT: http://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/threads/custom-radio-stations-guide.2/
There are a few things to pay attention to:
1. You have to use the new tools for SRIV for extracting and building the packages.
2. to use ww2ogg you have to use it with the command switch "--pcb packed_codebooks_aoTuV_603.bin" ("ww2ogg.exe radio_k12_media_00000.wav -o radio_k12_media_00000.ogg --pcb packed_codebooks_aoTuV_603.bin" for example), so you can't just drag and drop the files.
3. To convert your own song you have to use the new Wwise tool from 2013, not the one from 2010. You can find it here: https://www.audiokinetic.com/downloads/

May we please see a screenshot of what we're supposed to do in the command line? I just can't seem to figure out how to put it in there correctly :p I already have a custom radio in the game and the songs play perfectly even though I KNOW I didn't match up the songs right, but I'd like to know anyways so we can be more accurate :p

Thanks for the hasty response. I've got another question regarding this though: if I replace a song that's used in a mission (say, "Insane In The Membrane"), will there be any weirdness thanks to it (aside from the missions with the Boss/Pierce singing along to the song, I'm not asking about that)?

If you want to replace a song that's also used in a mission, that's fine. The mission score is broken up into unique loops and samples that are triggered using the interactive music system. The song heard on the radio is a completely different asset.

However, if you're wanting to replace the music in that mission, that's going to be significantly more difficult and probably damn near impossible until the audio SDK is released. If you're up for some adventure you could theoretically cut up a song to the exact lengths and loops as the existing licensed score and replace the assets. This is no easy feat, though. That song in particular took a professional sound designer about 20 man-hours to implement properly, including system structure and bugs.

Aha. I was not aware of that either. I was asking because a friend of mine was wanting to replace particular radio songs, one of which happened to be in a mission, and I wasn't sure if it would cause problems with the mission music or not. Good to know there wouldn't be any problems.

I suppose it could be fun to try to replace a mission's music or (eventually, when the sdk is released) maybe try to implement a musical loop in a unique mission. That's clearly far down the line, though.
