In Shot 5 of the "Family Ties" Ronin cutscene, the Samurai Swords disappear from the backs of Shogo, Jyunichi, and the Ronin Goon.
This happens because during the porting process of Saints Row 2 to PC, for whatever reason, the animations for the Swords in Shot 5 of this cutscene did not get ported. They simply do not exist in the PC port of Saints Row 2.
THE FIX:
Ronin members have a unique characteristic in Saints Row 2, in that whenever they wield a Samurai Sword, the Sword on their back disappears, as though they had drawn the Sword from the sheath on their back. (A very cool little detail which I admit to only just noticing recently!)
The file which controls the "Family Ties" cutscene hides the swords which would normally be on their backs via this feature, and instead uses higher quality models of the Samurai Swords as NPCs with their own animations independent of the human characters. The animations make them look as though they are part of the human NPC models. (This is how cutscene props work in Saints Row 2. For more info check out this video with Volition Developer Mark Kirkland.)
This mod hides the cutscene NPC versions of the Samurai Swords and re-enables the swords which would normally be on their backs.
The downsides to this are that the models and textures of the Swords are gameplay quality (not cutscene quality), and for some reason the sword on the back of the Ronin Goon has a flickering issue to do with lighting.
The swords will now remain on the backs of Shogo, Jyunichi, and the Ronin Goon throughout the cutscene!
No other area of the game is affected by this mod.
BEFORE/AFTER
INSTALLATION:
(via Gentlemen Of The Row):
1. COPY "RO02-02.xtbl" provided by this mod.
2. PASTE into "Gentlemen_of_the_Row_Saints_Row_2_Super_Mod_v1.9.2\optional_mod_stuff\1-MODDERS_-_PUT_YOUR_OWN_PERSONAL_MODS_HERE".
3. Rebuild your Gentlemen Of The Row custom patch by double-clicking "Create_Custom_GotR_v1.9.2.bat" and following the instructions.
4. Move the newly created contents of "MY_CUSTOM_PATCH" into your Saints Row 2 root folder (Where SR2_pc.exe is located.).
5. Launch Saint's Row 2, and watch the "Family Ties" Ronin cutscene to see the changes!

1. COPY the "Family Ties Fix" folder provided above this Read Me.
2. PASTE into "SR2ModManager_v2.07\mods".
3. Run "SR2ModManager.exe" and check the "Family Ties Fix" folder you just copied over.
4. Compile your "patch.vpp_pc" and move it from "SR2ModManager_v2.07\patch_vpp_pc_new" into your Saint's Row 2 root directory (Where SR2_pc.exe is located).
5. Launch Saint's Row 2, and watch the "Family Ties" Ronin cutscene to see the changes!
