Hello ladies and gents, I would like to start off this topic by saying hello and signed up just so I could get some help here. My main issue lies with the game not even getting to the menu. That means no intro videos or loading screens. Just a blank one. After a few seconds (5-10) the window closes with no error message at all, kind of like Skyrims CTDs. Here are some things that I have tried.
Note:I have winodws 10 but I don't think this is the issue.
1. Disabled display scaling
2.Ran in compatibility mode (Windows XP)
3. Installed powertools
4.Installed GotR
5.Disabled sound enhancements
6.Verified cache
7.Ran Direct X
8.Unplugged all the devices I didn't need (so just have K+M)
9. Used the altered settings.dat file to run in 800x600 windowed mode
My system specs are as follows
Intel Core 2 duo 2.0ghz
Nvidia Geforce 9700 GTS 512
6 GB ddr3 RAM
1TB 5400 RPM HDD 2.5"
Now I know that my processor is weak, but I have managed to get this game running in the past on my previous OS on the same machine (Windows 7) about 4 years ago on a torrent copy. I quickly ditched the game as the controls for vehicles were horrendous, framerate was everywhere, and the speedup bug was extremely annoying. Thankfully there seems to be a number of fixes for these issues. I just now purchased this game yesterday on sale and hate to waste my money on a great game that won't work. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated
