Maybe your friend may have changed the weapon type to that of a pistol, SMG, or a rifle. IIRC, said weapon types don't support the spread that a shotgun is supposed to have, so it gives no pellet spread and instant kills.

For the sniper rifle, you can make the bullets explode like an RPG, but the RPG fires a projectile and the sniper rifle uses hitscans, so you'll have to add projectile info into the sniper rifle's files. The RPG has a magazine capacity of 1, so you can't make it shoot faster. Also, I believe the game uses hitscans for ballistic weapons (ie. the sniper rifle), so you can't make it shoot different "bullets".
