A couple of days ago I tried installing a mod in my game, copied the files as instructed to the correct directory. However, when I start the game, the game boots up but then immediately shuts down and starts to update its files. What is going on here? Why is this happening?

I was trying to run the Iron Saints MK2 armor by Bloodjack. Also the K8 Krukov port and the Decker Sword port, whose creator's name eludes me right now.
