Substituting Flashbang Explosion

Hey, I know this game is old now but I still like to have fun with it every so often. So I was attempting to replace the flashbang's explosion with the one from the Waste Barrels on the Nuke Plant Island (with the green explosion and waste coming out). When I replaced the explosion effect on the Flashbang in weapons.xtbl with the one from the Barrel Waste, in-game there was just an empty explosion. Can someone help me make it so that it explodes with the green liquid and fire just like the barrels when you shoot them? Thanks
