Playa Choice allows you to customize the Playa freely to your heart's content. This package includes quite a bit of changes. First are some necklace patches for the Balance Sleeveless Henley, Viral Hensley Shirt, and the Roundneck Pullover. It also enables some unused content; The Parted Afro and the Light Silver Braided Belt are now purchasable items at Do It Up hair salon, and On the Rag clothing store respectively. As well as these, the multiplayer exclusive Cross Pendent and glowing MP Chains are now available for purchase. Along with this, you may now purchase all unlockable clothing, including the Pimp outfit and medallion, Racing Jersey, Large Wheel B Medallion, all the chains, etc. Furthermore, you may also now crop your undershirts and overshirts. If you have an overshirt you wish to crop just be sure to crop the undershirt as well, or remove the undershirt. You may also wear Tank Tops and Muscle Shirts untucked with any Coat now. It doesn't end there. The respect system has been changed dramatically. The base game allows you to go up to a 25% boost. To achieve this you must wear insanely expensive clothes and accessories as well as unlockables. This isn't ideal for max respect. If someone like Benjamin King can be well respected in just a suit, so should you! All clothes, tattoos, and jewelry now give as much respect as its dollar amount. Whether you're snazzy in a suit, or blinged out in a tank top, you can still achieve a 25% bonus by wearing at least $5,000 in drip. If you manage to hit $30k you'll receive a 30% boost. From there it's 5k for every additional 5% increase to your respect up to 50%. The next milestone is 100k for +100% and 150k for +200%. And yes... You can accumulate that much value from clothing, tattoos, and jewelry in this mod. I have painstakingly looked over I believe thousands of items and researched their real life counterpart and put them through an inflation calculator from 2025 to 2006 to get accurate prices. I really did... This took weeks, I wish I was joking. Now you can enjoy a real economy as well as the new respect system. This took an incredible amount of work, so I hope you all appreciate it!

Requirements:
Xenia Xbox 360 Emulator or RGH/Jtag
Copy of Saints Row (you can obtain this from Flippy's website)
Xbox 360 Backup Creator to extract files from the SR1 ISO
SR1Tools (you can obtain this from Flippy's website)

Install:
1.) Put SR1Tools in the root of your Saints Row directory (Make sure there's no spaces in your directory at all, sometimes it causes it not to work).
2.) Go to Saints-Row\packfiles and copy "misc2.vpp_xbox2"
3.) Paste in Saints-Row\SR1TOOLS\1-input
4.) Go to Saints-Row\SR1TOOLS and run the "unpack" batch file
5.) Go to Saints-Row\SR1TOOLS\2-workspace\VPP\misc2
6.) Replace these files within the misc2 folder: "customization_items" "customization_respect_levels" and "customization_stores"
7.) Go to Saints-Row\SR1TOOLS and run the "pack" batch file
* - This will create a new "misc2.vpp_xbox2" and install them to your packfiles folder in your root folder.
** - If you get unauthorized access then most likely the misc2.vpp_xbox2 packfile is read-only. Just delete them in your packfile folder and then run the pack batch file again.
8.) You can open the game and start having fun!

Bugs:
While you may wear the Tank Top and Muscle Shirts untucked with any coat it's advised not to wear them with Double Breasted Coat and the Sport Coat as they will cause clipping.

Notes:
Assuming you buy everything and save the clothes should still carry over to your save file and be usable on a vanilla version of the game. Your permutations of whether it's cropped and the Parted Afro will not save, however. The multiplayer chains and cross pendent will disappear but can be re-equipped in the wardrobe. The light silver braided belt will not disappear. Also shout out to Janson for bringing the Parted Afro to my attention. I'm glad I could restore this content for Saints Row fans to use. Oh, lastly, if you do not wish to exceed the 25% respect bonus to maintain the game's vanilla respect levels, simply leave out the file "customization_respect_levels" and you'll be good to go.

probably not even possible but do you know how to edit certain pieces of clothing such as the santa boots to have only the bottom part visible as to not clip too much with lins model when using femme fatale

You can’t edit the actual models themselves, unfortunately. I’d say the best alternative you have is probably the mechanic boots and hiking boots if you don’t want them going up to your shins. Which sucks because I do like the color of the Santa boots and I wear them with pants a lot.

ah ok, u wouldnt happen to be familiar with character model swaps would u like swapping npc models
I mean that's definitely possible. I saw someone made the Playa into a S.W.A.T. officer and the Femme Fatale mod that turns Playa into a female model is pretty popular. It is doable but I haven't messed with model swapping myself on this game. On GTA I know it's as easy as just renaming the model files around lol.

There was once a Saint who was able to do something like this.

He set out from the Row to undertake a most noble quest, one that will go down in Saints history.

He went from the lowest lows to the highest highs to change the default Playa character model into something different, be it Julius, Johnny Gat, one of Stilwater PD's finest, or even make them play as an invisible spooky man or a walking, talking household object.

Oh, wait, no, that was me.

I made a thread a long while ago with details on how I did this (see here). I've also published a few character model swaps for SR1 since then.

There are a couple of limitations on them as they stand, as highlighted by CabooseSayzWTF, where some of their textures aren't always present. Something to do with how the game caches textures when it's running. Going back and fixing these is on my drawing board, though I am working on another big project for another game at the moment.

Here are the links to them, iluvsr2022:

Johnny Gat player model: Link

SWAT player model: Link

Invisible player model: Link

Player object morph (SR Prop Hunt, anyone??): Link

When using one of these mods, I can assure you that the Vice Kings, the Rollerz and Los Carnales (not THE Los Carnales) will never know what's coming, especially when there's a dumpster with a Tombstone shotgun charging in their direction at full speed.

I'm looking to publish more SR1 stuff in the coming months, stuff I've never seen on this site before, too. :)

Happy modding!

could just be me misunderstanding what I've read on your thread but i am still confused as to how to obtain the npc textures and or distinguish which ones are for which lets say i wanted to change playa model with random vice king or carnales or rollerz npc

The textures can be extracted with Phantasy Row SDK on this site. I only ported the other NPC models over the Playa's and didn't touch the textures.

CabooseSayzWTF let me know a good while back about how he was able to fix the issue with the textures popping in and out of the game whenever the replicated NPC (let's say I was playing as Johnny Gat) was not present. I gave it a go myself, but wasn't successful in fixing it. I may revisit this at some point if time allows.

I hear you. I’m working on a huge project for Saints Row 1 but took like a 2-3 week break to play other games. I got a lot of stuff that’s never done here either and I really want to release it + tutorials on how to do it. Hopefully people can apply that information to other Saints Row games :)
