What would we like for Saints Row the 2nd?

SR2 does feel a little clunky in many ways,
Well SRR even so clunky in many ways.. cant eat, cant drink,Only have one cribs, cant recruit homies...

In SR2:Your character has each expression in some situation you face it later, can eat and drink, had saints crew you can recruited,Idle animation,Good with action packed,Some great dialogue,Each voices having fun with their dialogue,Can take a seats in the saints car as passengers,Improvise weapons,Mugging people,Car mechanics looks decent and lighter(I probably kinda love SR2 car mechanics than SRTT and SRR)merciless Saints member... I dont know which clunky you mention it... Since you got more accesible building, have more cribs than reboot... And Billboard has your face when you owned almost all stores.

Can Smoking, drink alcohol and drunk,Your character can get coughing if you smoking the blunt too much just like SR1, it just feels lacking sr1 content get cut off.

Also a lot more of the scenery was destructible, billboards, crates, TVs, outdoor seating, the Drive-In Screen near Mount Claflin, etc...

There's only one destructible billboard in SRR, and that's only during a cutscene.

What's the point of tearing up the streets, if you can't actually tear up the streets?

But why is this the ONLY way to do things, is what I want to know? What Volition did was actually incredibly brave and innovative in my opinion, choosing to evolve the game in a particular direction, away from the serious and more toward the ridiculously fun absurd.
Because it's what people expect from a sequel, if you want to experiment, you make a spin-off game, a DLC, or a new series.
Doing something brave doesn't mean doing something smart.
That reminds me of a mission in San Andreas for some reason..
"A taste of things to come..." lol

Really? Says who? I get that traditionally most sequels follow the formula you are suggesting SR should have, but so what? Look, I would be more inclined to agree with you if Volition had handled SRTT, SRIV, and GooH the way that Rockstar/Take2 handled the Defective Edition of the GTA Trilogy, disseminating almost zero information and then an intelligence-insulting review embargo to make sure that people had no clue what they were buying until they actually started playing the game(s) after paying full price.

But Volition didn't do that, did they? They were open and up front about all those SR sequels right from go. Anyone who didn't like those SR games because of the direction Volition went truly has nobody to blame but themselves, because it was so obvious the vibe, feel, and gameplay that those games were going to have long before they launched. Even pre-orders could have been refunded from any retailer if the players who had serious issues with SRTT, GooH, and SRIV had just taken the time to see what those games were going to be based on all the pre-release information.

So, no, Volition is under no obligation to keep a franchise going in a particular direction, just because a bunch of people were too dumb to actually look at all the pre-release videos, preview information, and story leaks, and just bought it anyway.

By the way, I believe most people actually liked those games, as evidenced by the sales and preorders for SRIV and even the sales of GooH, after so many people played both the previous full games. Not to mention all the excellent reviews.

And in case you want to chuck in the old cliche that "reviews don't matter, dammit!" I would just like to point you to all of the almost universally horrible reviews of SR:2022. See? The system works, after all! lol The sales of that game were awful, and so were all the reviews, and for good reason.

Oh, and on the same topic of knowing what you're getting into before buying? I didn't purchase SR:2022. I have very little interest in that game until it ends up on Steam, and is given a huge discount. Why? Pay attention now, because here's the important part:

Because I paid attention to all of the pre-release information for SR:2022, and decided it looked like crap, and so I wanted to see of the reviews told a different story, which clearly they didn't. So I passed. Simple. Problem solved. Oh, and also in Volition's defense, no matter how shitty SR: 2022 ended up being, at least they were honest about what they were creating right from the beginning. They didn't promise SR like the old days and deliver some woke-ass, pussified, duplicitous version of the game. From everything I have seen, SR: 2022 is pretty much everything Volition said it would be, at least regarding content.

The GARBAGE and buggy state they released it in is another story, and they should be hated on for that. Releasing a glitched out, poorly running mess of a game is not the same thing as I am defending in this post.

-Less Spongy Enemies/More Refined combat system

-Higher Stakes, the Boss losing and being humbled a lot more, probably more open to attempting less violent solutions as the well of people to kill dries up. Like, to the point of actually taking a lowball 20% offer.

-Greater Mission and Activity variety, Greater absurdity and interactivity in both.

-Straighter-faced/more sincere dialogue, the Marvel quippy style may have been trendy when the game was being conceived but not when it launched.

-More memorable tracks on the radio, while I understand making the radio streamer-friendly, most of it was still literal radio silence or distinctly undistinct.

-Reboot engine improvements to gameplay and lack of bugs.

-Figure adjustment being assymetrical, like the option to be top or bottom-heavy exclusively

-A quirkier voice option or two

-Atleast one of the original series Saints returning

-Boss Height adjustment and mayhaps a non-US setting, like South America or a more overtly sci-fi/raunchy dystopia

-Maybe playing a Saint Footsoldier ala 1 instead of starting off in charge, the new Boss kept as this distant, mythic figure.

-Throwback mechanics like being able to get drunk/high in the name of shenanigans, and the car sing-a-longs.

-Mission Replay

Just out of curiosity, which Saint would you like to see return?

I would definitely choose Gat, but I'd have him as an old man, and he'd be more of a mentor to Boss, Eli, Kev, & Neenah.

He'd still occasionally get involved in the action, but he'd mainly be there to keep these new Saints more grounded in reality, and mold them into a respectable criminal empire.

He'd also keep them from selling out, as that's one of his own biggest regrets.

He'd live through the entire second game (so the new Saints have plenty of off-screen time to get to know him on a more personal level), but just like SRTT, he'd get "killed off" early in the the third game, driving the Saints to avenge him.

Depending on whether the series reached a 4th game, he'd either return then, or he'd return towards the end of the third game.

Upon first meeting the Saints in the second game, he would trash their Church, as he considers the Collectible Statues and Wall Mounts to be "brand advertisements".

He of course suggests a Stripper Pole in the centre, and Saints Tags on the walls to show that this place belongs to them, and not a bunch of sponsors.

This of course means there's a montage Cutscene where Neenah designs several Saints Tags, and Gat either nods or shakes his head at them.

Another mission will involve Boss driving Gat and Kev to several clothing stores to give Kev a more respectable look.

And mimicking Pierce's heist plan getting hijacked by Gat, Eli's plans for investing money gets flipped into casino hiests and laundering money.

As for the Boss, they'll get the most screen time with Gat, as he'll be a Homie in a few missions, and on the phone for most.

And although, at first, Boss doesn't like the idea of some "boomer" hijacking their empire, their relationship soon becomes as strong and Gat and Playa's.

I feel another transcript coming

Gat would work but feels predictable for me, was thinking more Fun!Shaundi or even Matt.
