I thought the storyline for SRR was maybe not so bad... Until I watched this.
The tone of the "It's our time now" speech in all previous games has a certain serious tone that the reboot missed entirely.
Talk of sticker charts, the cat's name "Snickerdoodle", the Boss referring to themselves as a "walking murder party" in a manner befitting "The Joker".
I think Kev said it best: "Yeah, what the fuck is happening?"
Because that was not the right scene or tone for the iconic "It's our time now" speech.

Minor gripes with the overall presentation aside, I think what happens next is going to really hinge on the post launch support and fixing of SRR. If the sales are indeed good, then in the coming month or two we'll see how it'll pan out. If they manage to get things more stable and functional, I believe the legacy of this game will be fine. Entries like 3 used to be a lot more contentious, and over time people came around on them.
So yeah, if they're able to fix it while the iron is hot, I think it'll be fine. I have no idea how its going to play out though, and ultimately I wish them the best.

Isn't it already doing better than Agents of Mayhem? They might have a chance.
Hopefully the financial viability of the franchise encourages shareholders to give Volition more time or backing.

Funcom put Conan Exiles on free to play for a week to push CE 3.0.
Let's hope this doesn't kill the Saints Row franchise. For once, I think it was a good decision for them to release it on Epic first. That's more or less guaranteed that the company won't sink.
