SPOILERS I want everyones honest opinion

Maybe if they had delayed it 6-9 months it would had been a different story.

I don't think the map is empty and devoid of life like many have mentioned, you can clearly see they tried to go with a SR2 approach and placed "Interesting Points" through all the map, it really feels vivid city. You can see NPC's doing all kinds of things like talking to each other, sitting or standing outside stores, chilling in parks, walking on the street and all kinds of stuff. I really appreciate that they tried to make it work.

But on the other hand it falls short in 2022 because the AI is still in 2006 era... they are so devoid of reactions like any modern title and they do absolutely NOTHING to react to player actions apart from the emotes or them just running away when chaos makes itself present. The Desert location as playground is ok, but i feel most of it is just deserted areas with nothing in them. LITERALLY.

The world also needed to be more interactive, like being able to buy drinks from soda machines, rob NPC's and Stores and there aren't any animals roaming apart from the vultures on the sky. Altough yesterday i swear i saw something that looked like a tiny blue bird trying to land behind me and i thought "wow i didn't knew this was a thing!" but when i turned around there was nothing and i was very confused on what i thought i saw. If anyone has seen this please let me know because i swear i saw it.

Exploration is fine, but it falls short in regards to finding secrets as there isn't much to do outside of missions. There are only three types of "Secret" Collectables, The drugs stash, the gargabe dive-in and the Monumental Photos. And they're ok but it also makes you feel it needed way more to do.

Another thing that was missing was that the city needed more open buildings to explore, i mean SR2 had a lot of those and there is no single open building outside of missions and the lack of ACTUAL open stores as tiny stands for clothes just does not cut it for me... i mean i remember being able to inside the Police Department, the prison, the college with a basket ball court, Random Open Restaurants, Malls and Plazas with actual food, weapons and clothes and all kinds of places just to explore.

The game isn't as serious as they made us believe, perhaps it was just a marketing tactic, butit really is just SR4 all over again. The story and characters are still incredibly silly, just less over the top. I wish they had keep all those high tech laser gun and sword stuff out of the game and stick to just regular firearms, i've never been a fan of Sci-fi or Space themed franchises. I am more of a Medieval or Modern age type of stuff. But i guess i am the exeption and minority here.

The kill moves are fun, but repetive with little variation and they take waaaaaaaay too long, they needed to have much more, be super quick but cool looking. Instead they look silly like the screwdriver headbut. All that while eveything in the world stops around with NPC's just there watching and waiting for you to finish so silly lol.

Even with all the weird and broken things goin on, i still want to go back because the game at it's own IS FUN. But everything else falls short because it's technically nearly broken but playable or was the wrong choice like the story and characters.

god the clothing kiosks irritate me like nothing else because when i first heard about them i was like "oh like in watch dogs 2! fun little spots of interactivity around the map as a bonus addition to the proper clothing stores!" but of course they weren't handled like that at all huh

i watched some review earlier today and apparently Volition blamed memory issues for the lack of interiors or something. but idk isn't that just on them for not allocating resources for it to begin with? i'm pretty sure they said something similar for srtt, and then with sriv they said they "wanted to make levels" instead of improving the actual map. i get the feeling they just don't see any value in interiors at all but they can't outright say they don't give a shit and people shouldn't expect them, because they know players want them.

Exactly.
The way they made the rival groups was completely on the wrong direction. The fact the Boss and Sergio never goes against each other face to face and when it looks like that will happen... He's unceremoniously killed by Nahualli. Nahualli is another character with wasted potential. In reality every character, both allies and foes are wasted potential.

Weapon customization being just painting or changing the model it's also something you either like it, or you either hate it. For some reason this in the future will probably be used to add new skins instead of new variety of weapons.
"Why make a new weapon with it's own characteristic if it can be made as model skin?"

It would be nice if you could get a rifle without any attachment and customizing with the attachment you want/need. instead of giving 3d models that have'em, but just for show. It felt a bit like APB Reloaded by doing like that.

It's not like I'm asking a 3rd person action game to have the same detailed customization mirroring a 1st person shooter like Insurgency Sandstorm or going even beyond, like Tarkov (not be exact like it, that's too detailed tho). But y'all can interprete that way too if you want.

Vehicle customization stills a point I can defend.
Ridgelord, Compton, Ethel, Dreadnought, Estrada and Snake caught my attention.

At this point I think killing off characters too early is a theme of theirs

Yeah that was weird, Loren was even in the CGI Trailer with the Power song just to be plastered by giant ball. And this new guy Sergio , like does an amazing entrance and i was thinking we might encountered him many times like we did with Maero and he just gets killed instantly by Nahualli... i was like "no way! he still alive!" but nope, he actually dies right there. I mean this Nahualli character is pretty badass, but that was d*ck move from the writers after all that fiasco with the Mexican girl driving that Car from "Guadalajara".

At least Loren tried to come off as a threat. Sergio? I didn't feel anything from him other than him being a jerk to Neenah.

Also, is it just me or:

did it feel like we were playing through a Disney movie toward the end where Nahuwalli was all, ‘I want true friends just like you!’ So he betrays you, almost kills you, and kidnaps your friends and forces them to pretend like they’re his friends.

Then you go through this weird acid-trip thing where your friends more or less tell you how you suck at being a friend so you call them telling them how you’re going to make it right this time.

I mean, I get it, the whole ‘what being a friend means’ thing has been done plenty of times before, especially by Disney, just that it felt kind of odd in this game.

I’m surprised they didn’t have Snickerdoodle suddenly start talking during the acid trip.

Also, too much loose ends. Leaving Marshall alone ever after Myra warns you.
No established hierarchy on the crews. Los Panteros being only Sergio and him alone, Derek was just a named mook to make protecting Jim mission less generic.
Gwen the CO that hates your guts for whatever the fuck not explained reason being only faced in LARPing...

Small comparison with other oepn world sandboxes:
- Mafia 3 plot was nice. but the open world gameplay was quite repetitive. despite the empire building being interesting, for allowing you to assign districts to Vito, Burke and Cassandra.
- Scarface being the perfect "what if" continuation for the movie. With a solid empire building. It's amazing to follow Tony's takeover of Miami and getting revenge against Sosa.
- The Godfather business takeover using coercion if they refuses to sell. Also the warehouse and mansion takeovers.

Some cousins of mine that pre-ordered it, I had a chance to play it... And boy... Like I said in one of my earlier comments here, my words about the plot stills stands... The writing leaves so much to be desired... People at Volition wasted all those years writing this uninteresting plot. The game doesn't gives you the proper satisfaction to finish your enemies and make sure they stay that way.

Santo Ileso is lifeless. Stuff only happens becaus it's the player's will.
A problem Cyberpunk 2077 also has, the city is "Look but don't touch", in 2 you could enter various locations including the casino and airport, 3 also had enterable locations even though it was a lesser amount

Nahualli in general is a victim of the Villain Ball (TM), he has the setup and potential for an interesting character arc but out of nowhere becomes the last arc boss who you need to kill
